I'm looking for novels with smart and/or suave alpha characters. I mostly see them in movies. The most concrete example I can think of is Kevin Spacey's character in House of Cards. He's a total dark triad, but he is so cool and refined about it.

Character's like Leonidas in 300 are not really what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions? Bonus points if it's sci-fi.
