Women have a bad habit of assuming men think the way they do. We see this all the time here. A woman gets vulnerable and intimate with a man, not always sexually but usually. She sees that as an expression of her desire for commitment and his acceptance of said vulnerability as a covert contract that he, too, is ready to commit.

Regardless of how the man saw things going, he often sees this escalation as a sign that the woman is just looking for fun. Maybe he subconsciously doesn't see a woman who has sex on the first date as wife material, or perhaps he just assumes said woman wouldn't do so with a man if she were looking for marriage. She's now in a place of casual fun. He assumes this is mutual.

Because we live in a society where women are afraid to admit they want marriage and babies and soon, they reinforce their place as casual partner by playing the Cool Girl. One year later, they're here, telling us this story and lamenting the fact that their kinda sorta boyfriend goes on camping trips with other women. Other subs blame the man for stringing her along, with no real acknowledgement that she helped make this bed.

It's not that having sex early on makes you dirty or wrong, so much as it sends a certain message. That message is, more often than not, perceived as "I'm here for fun." Is it wrong or unfair? Possibly. Is it universal? Not necessarily. There are surely exceptions. It's still important to be aware that the message a man receives when you give him oral on a first date is not "I feel a deep connection and want to have your babies." It's much more likely "Our physical connection is fantastic and I like sex." That's it. If you're okay with sending that message, you do you. It's not usually a message you can retract, though.

I feel the same applies to being so emotionally invested. Trying to please man, show you are such a wife material woman when he hasn't even asked for commitment has the same effect as using sex to get more from a random man.

Full text: Edited to not target OP, but hopefully you see this. We as women have to stop giving access to the depths of ourselves (physically/emotionally) without first establishing a deep connection outside of that.

Most men are gonna take what they are given. Often women don’t require any commitment. This is all backwards and this is why the dating scene is so “strange”.

Instead of slut shaming, I’d like to lovingly remind us women that our decisions do not exist in a vacuum but contribute to the problem. These rare masculine men are being given the cookie without having to be a husband or provider, what do you think they’re gonna do?

We have to stop giving it up because we felt a connection and or tingle. The best things a woman can do is optimize her physical health and hygiene, cultivate feminine style, and gentle, nurturing spirit, concrete morals and values, setting healthy boundaries in relationships (also having solid ones with family and good female friends who have similar values and morals) - one of the benefits of this is being a rare wifely candidate in the dating pool.

I don’t care what your age is- if you’re well past the wall and have done the above and men aren’t offering commitment before sex, protect your heart and accept you have phased out of being able to get the type of man you lust after and settle for someone you can enjoy and connect with or accept singlehood and use your femininity to nurture your community.

Hopefully this has been somewhat succinct but I just think we’re making a mess of relationships these days and then complaining or being upset with the outcome not realizing the power of our decisions and the ripple effect of our standards. I truly believe women can respect each other and clean up the dating market to a large degree because feminism sure has screwed it up 😅
