TW: Miscarriage and blood
In the fall of 2020 I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage at home (my choice to do it at home) that landed me in the ER needing two bags of blood transfusions.
I just realized today, that in my most vulnerable moment, I was naked in my bathtub, in and out of consciousness, and losing a TON of blood (check out my post history if you’re morbidly curious) I was surrounded by only men. My husband, my father in law, my son (a baby at the time) all 6 male EMTs - they cared for me, they protected me, and they saved my life.
My FIL even stayed behind to watch my son over night and clean up all the bloody mess that was left behind. Multiple grapefruit sized blood clots and a bag of bloody, ruined clothes. He didn’t need to be directed, he just stepped up.
I know people love to hate men these days. And I know this community isn’t one of them. But I thought you all would appreciate my story and I hope you are surrounded by men like this. I hope you know that when you’re in need - men will be there for you. People are so good.
Thanks for reading.
