So, after reading your great advice, I decided to put a few strategies into play.

First, I put my two consecutive days off (a huge rarity) to good use. He's been stressed at work lately, so I decided to offer to do any outstanding errands/tasks/chores he needed for him. Sunday entailed taking his car to the wash while he was out with friends and cooking his favorite meal (chicken and dumplings). Monday included my doing his laundry and cleaning up around his apartment while he was at work. He felt like going out for drinks/dinner with his friends after work, so I was the DD when he decided he was finished.

I figured this would help demonstrate my willingness to be more submissive and less dominant leading up to our discussion. We're both moving into new apartments next week, so I thought this would be primetime for him to kick his decision-making skills up a notch. I was hoping he'd take over the logistics-side of our moving plans. These plans are quite intense, as they include a 2-hour trip to a furniture store in another state and a 4-hour trip back to our mutual hometown. This will be quite the ordeal.

I was sorely disappointed when he floundered on the moving plans. It quickly turned into a no-win situation, with a back and forth of "Well, I want to do whatever you want to do." Things escalated so severely that his mother tried to make a power play and craft an itinerary that benefited absolutely no one.

This was entirely unacceptable and led to a disastrous meta-discussion that reached well beyond our moving plans. Ultimately, we called time on the relationship. He decided he wants to be a follower and I'm not willing to be the leader in my relationship. To put a cherry on top, he called my thinking backwards.
