My SO and I have been together for about 4 months now. We've done the whole "meet the parents" thing and discussed our future. I really do love him and think he's a wonderful man/captain.

He's very friendly and talkative, but he's so talkative sometimes that he dominates the conversation. There are times when other people can't get a word in edgewise. I don't think he even knows that he does it. I don't mind this in terms of our relationship because I tend to be pretty quiet and don't have much to say, but I worry that it might negatively affect his career. He's thinking about starting his own business next year so I want to address it sooner rather than later.

How do I help him? How should I bring it up? Have any of you ladies been in a similar situation?

TL;DR My SO sometimes dominates conversations with other people and doesn't give them a chance to speak. How do I help him so that he doesn't rub someone (a potential customer) the wrong way?
