Hi, so I’m 30 weeks pregnant so not sure if I’m just being overly in my feelings right now but I feel like whenever my husband has free time out of work he never really makes plans with me or involving me.

I came downstairs today after he took our 1 year old so I could have a bit of a lie in and he was on the phone making plans with his brother to go to the beach today (I had completely forgotten that today is a bank holiday for us). He then went to go and knock on his cousins door so he could wake up and start getting ready.

While I was making breakfast, my husband kept asking me what was wrong if anything was wrong and I told him I was okay because I didn’t want to make it a big deal. I do enjoy having a break and having a day to myself as well so it’s not like I’m trying to complain and it’s not that I don’t want him to spend time with his family without me, that’s perfectly okay too. Plus, we just booked a 10 day all inclusive holiday that we’re going on this coming weekend and both excited about so we will spend time together then so I can’t really understand why my feelings feel a little bit hurt?

Ever since we’ve been married it’s never really been us together, there’s always people around us/living with us and my husband is always working really so emotional connection is really lacking.

He just told me yesterday that his cousin’s family are flying in end of October when I’m due to give birth and it’s just filled me with anxiety because what woman wants to have a whole load of people around when you’re about to give birth or just given birth? I’m already upset because I’m probably not going to end up having the birth I want because I’m travelling to a further away hospital. Now in postpartum we may potentially be having to host his cousin’s family although my husband did say he’s trying to make arrangements for them to possibly stay with his sister for a bit and in another house he has.

When I’ve complained before that we never really spend time together he said he doesn’t bother planning anything because I always end up being late and the whole thing becomes a fluster so I’m not sure what I’m typing all this up for but I guess just for perspective on whether I’m reading into all of this too much. I’m not going to say anything to him, I’m just going to rest and enjoy the time to myself for this bank holiday.
