There's this guy from my apartment (let's call him Anthony) that I always run into in the elevator. I think he's very attractive, and because we always run into each other, we always make small talk and have become acquaintances. He kind of seems like a man of few words and is kind of stoic, but sometimes I get the sense that he's interested in me (he remembers what I've told him from the last time we talked and asks about it, has said I look good on some particular days, and he asked me about my ethnicity the first time we met, which isn't flirting per se but seems like a strange thing to ask right after meeting someone). Even though he is very good-looking to me, he's kind of awkward when we talk, which leads me to have my doubts as to whether this is awkward flirting or simply just him being a nice person who's respectfully not interested. I decided just to be friendly and warm but not push too hard because he does live in the same building as me and I don't want to deal with the embarrassment of rejection.

A few weeks ago, I ran into him at a friend's graduation party. This friend (let's call him Bryan) is the president of an extracurricular I'm in, and happens to be his best friend. All three of us were shocked that we all knew each other, and we mostly spent the a few hours hanging out and just talking about how we know each other, our classes, and what we want to do in life. Bryan got Anthony a bottle of liquor as a parting gift, and slowly, Anthony got pretty drunk. I wasn't at all, so I was able to notice how much more touchy-feely Anthony got. Nothing inappropriate, but he kept coming over to give me hugs, held my hand when I rested my elbow on his shoulder, etc. He even told me how he thinks I'm the cute woman from his apartment multiple times, so I now know that he's at least attracted to me as well. He got my number, and hinted at us hanging out after the party was over, but I declined and said I should probably get back to my place since it was late, suggesting we could hang out after our winter break from college, since our hometowns are on different sides of the country. I ran into him the next day, and he apologized if he was being annoying and pretty much reverted back into being the stoic guy he usually is. I was kind of expecting us to at least be better friends after spending more time together, so I can't say I wasn't a little disappointed.

My question is, is he actually interested in me, or was it just the drunk goggles talking? This is a guy that's good-looking enough to be able to get with probably whoever he wants. I'm in shape and I took good care of myself, enough to be classified as cute or pretty depending on who you ask, but I wouldn't say I'm drop-dead gorgeous. It's been a few weeks and I still can't stop getting all giddy about what happened, but I'm a little worried that a guy that attractive would lose interest if we do end up sleeping together. How do you think I should proceed? Have any of you ever had an experience with a man with an extremely high SMV? How did you handle that situation?
