Usually I message the mods about this, but there's an ongoing issue with the subreddit chat and it hasn't been resolved in some time.

Some of us like using a chat format to communicate. It's more interactive and real-time, and in some ways, more convenient because some users don't feel comfortable making a post.

Unfortunately, the subreddit chat comes with a price: 800 members and only ~25ish post regularly. There's no privacy.

Additionally, and especially lately, the chat goes mostly unmoderated and we get trolls from incel subreddits, MGTOW, trp, etc. There's 2 in there right now and all we can do is report and try to ping the moderators who while I am extremely appreciative of your work and I understand you don't get paid to be a moderator, the concerns in the RPW chat seem to go chronically unaddressed. Last week someone came in saying he was "going to bring the incel army" and that went on for hours.

The IRC channel is dead and the chat on this platform is constantly bombarded by trolls. We can't have serious or light-hearted or any kind of coherent discussion with the current state.

It would be nice if we could have a private space.
