So, I have an Instagram account with 0 posts and like 20 followers (close friends) but I’m on it all the time. I always run in to beautiful girls with tons of followers and likes and I sometimes wish that were me? Like I’m not one to post selfies or over share my life online because it seems kind of degrading to crave validation from strangers but I also feel like that’s what I’m missing? It almost feels like I’m depriving myself of a normal experience and letting the world know how I look. Which I know sounds ridiculous but is it bad to sometimes crave that kind of attention? I’ve been struggling with self esteem issues for as long as I can remember, which is one of the reasons I don’t take selfies, much less post them online. I don’t consider myself to be ugly by any means, but it feels like if I were to put myself online i’d be letting myself be vulnerable to others. I hope this makes sense. Also, I know this sounds bad but my boyfriend doesn’t really help my situation either. I know it’s not his job to fix me, and I get that these issues are mine, but sometimes he can be critical (not in a mean way) of my appearance which just makes things worse. Not to mention he seems to give a lot of attention to other girls on Instagram. Sorry if I sound super dramatic. Also, I’m typing this as it spills out of my brain, so I’m sorry for any grammatical issues.
