Hi, I’m a student at NYU and I am doing research on online communities for a class I’m taking. I think your online community would be a wonderful place for observing how people interact online in a community because I think your community is often a misunderstood place that could use some observation. May I join your site and observe and participate as part of my research? I would like to conduct my observation from 10/18 to 10/28.

I will follow all the rules of the site, and be respectful of anyone who does not want me to include them. I will write up my research and submit it to my Professor. It will not be published anywhere, or read by anyone else. I can change names to preserve anonymity.
