Grab some audiobooks on productivity, success, health etc. and listen to them while going for a walk.
If you're stuck in a dark place mentally; where the internet has sucked out your attention span for reading, and your willpower for exercising, I'm not sure there's another way that exists to at least get the ball rolling besides this one.
And yeah, the morning thing is so important. If you don't get shit done in the first half of the day, you can't get anything done, ever. Because you'll always delaying starting anything unpleasant because "I should really tackle my todo item #1 that I had setup for this morning" , the perfect excuse.
You don't have to get up early, but you do have to be hardcore into your goals within a few hours of waking up, whenever that is.

Do you have some recommendations for audio books ?
[–]1clon3man 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I started with the Optimize Brain Johnson podcasts (specifically the ones where he interviews a book author). From there I discovered interesting books which I generally grab on audible.
Eventually I discovered other interesting people, Dave Asprey, Joe Rogan, Louis Rossmann, Rhonda Patrick, Jordan Peterson.

+1 on your mention of the internet sucking attention span. My way of defeating that is by meditation. By being in the present, the internet becomes irrelevant. Any urge to hop on to get a burst of dopamine is gone for a while. If it comes up again, i meditate again. How long do i meditate? As long as I need to to clear my mind.

I would strongly advise you not to visualize goals. When you do, dopamine is released in your brain. You feel really productive and good for about 30-60 seconds and then your mood is killed for the rest of the time until you have made visable progress. Focus on your task at hand. Sitting there like you are already done in your mind isnt actually going to do much for you. At least thats how I feel!

Don't have a Reddit app on your phone.

I've seen my writing improve bigly since I began lurking on reddit. The right subs also present information you won't find in the MSM.
Toilet time, between sets at gym, and commuting time makes up the majority of my usage.

I highly recommend "the procrastination equation" by Piers Steel.

This is maybe more useful as a tip for those who spend a lot of their time writing reports or papers (e.g. students)
If you have a big report to do that you won't get finished that evening, don't finish at a 'suitable' point. The last thing you want to do is make a start on the next paragraph, page or even sentence.
That way, when you return to it the next day, you shouldn't have to waste as much time getting back into a rhythm.

To all chronic procrastinators out there - I am sure I am not the only one - seek help. Get counselling.
I have known all of those tips for years, but I still kept on procrastinating because I had (and still do) emotional issues that I had to deal with.
The reason why many of us procrastinate is not because we do not know what to do, but because we have mental blocks that prevent us from doing what we consciously know we ought to do.
What seems to be working for me in overcoming chronic procrastination is counselling and meditation.

I suffer from this too - any tips on what caused this and how to start fixing it?

As I say, what seems to be working for me is weekly counselling and meditation. I am fortunate enough not to have to pay out of pocket for the counselling. But meditation is equally advisable, and for that I follow the book 'Mindfulness in Plain English'.

issues with my family here, for most part. some low test issues that I fixed, but it didn't help much. nothing helps in my case, except therapy with someone good. reading about it, trying to follow routines/daily schedule didn't help, same as forcing myself, trying to discipline myself etc etc. im 29 and still procrastinating a fuck ton.

I just turned 30 a few months ago. If you would like to exchange PMs on this, I'm open to it.

Probably a troll, but I'd still check out a mental hospital if I were you

The fuck is wrong with you? You need to be institutionalize.

This is probably just a rant, but you're not alone in how you feel. A lot of people feel like you do and it's a valid way to feel... However, you need to wise up. There's no greater harm that you can do to a woman than to cut her out of your life completely. Any sort of physically/emotionally abusive actions you pursue will be met with the strong arm of the law, which only hurts you in the long term.
Attempt to separate your ego, as well as yourself, from this woman. You'll be better off, and I hope you get well soon.

Lol I will never put my hands on a girl or woman i an assaulting manner EVER. EVER. I just can't do it mane, it is what it is. I would let this girl beat me up sometimes, so she cold receive stress. Was very interesting. However I do know people that will without a doubt be more than willing to pummel this little blonde hispanic cunt bag bitch. Like I said when the time is right she will be deal with, and want to make sure that everything is taken care of. Like I said god thing I never texted her, talked to her in length, was in a relationship with her, nothing...... The less than a handful of times I have spoken to her, or whatever I have always and I mean always been nice. However now she is pigshit to me, and can get murked. Serious. I would have been very nice to her, I mean like super nice. And really i dont even like most of these hos. However she seemed like a pretty nice girl. All she really is though is nothing more than a little hispanic whore, with a cumdumpster between her thighs, and a cocksucker for a fucking mouth.
Besides being under the weather a bit I am fine, legit I am not going to let this go. This has actually motivated me to want to work harder to get some stuff done I need, and want to. She should have been nice to me. Thats all I am going to say. She is dead to me, and I will make sure whatever I have to do she gets her ass beaten. I am not going to physically harm her with my own hands though lol.
