I've seen a lot of posts about meditation on this sub which is great, yet I haven't seen much about how to meditate which is not great.

So I'll teach you a method of meditation I teach people who are interested in learning. (there are thousands of methods on meditation)

  • 1 Get comfortable. Sit (or stand) on the ground, or on a chair, literally anywhere as long as you're comfortable.

  • 2 Erect your spine like the figure on the left

  • 3 Look downwards at a 45 degree angle. If you feel sleepy doing this, you may look upwards as it aids in stimulation.

  • 4 Breathe with your diaphragm. If you don't know how to do this, it's very easy to learn. Whenever you breathe just push out your gut. It's uncomfortable at first because we tend to breath with our chest. You'll adapt.

  • 5 When thoughts inevitably arise, watch them as if you were watching traffic. The thoughts race, and they're gone. Race, and they're gone.

  • 6 Hold this state of mind throughout the day. Meditation isn't an event you do for 15 minutes a day, it's a way to live. Don't just sit and meditate. Meditate while you shit, eat, and sleep. \rEdit : u/franz1980 made a great point, if sitting/standing isn't working well, you can always practice mindful walking. I can post on that if people request it.\r\r\r If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to PM me or leave a comment.
