Been there. Two years later and I am still climbing out of that shithole my life had become, because I sincerly believed in the bullshit society has to say about masculinity.

I denied my male nature, my true self, for 35 fucking years, not having the slightest clue what could possibly be wrong. It made me depressed to a point where I didn't take care of myself anymore at all. I didn't even bother with basic grooming anymore, drowning my self-disgust in alcohol day after day.

If it wasn't for my daughter, I am pretty sure that I wouldn't be here anymore to write this. I would have reliefed myself from the burden of having to deal with my weakness.

So what did actually help me? In fact it was that mystical 'manning up'.

Acknowledging that I am a male being, that I crave power, that I am not even half that glorious and altruistic person, I believed to be and that I will have to lift my lazy ass in order to find happiness in my life again and achieve what I want to achieve.

Realizing that it's my fucking responsibility to become the best possible version of me and not to try and drag down everybody else to my level. That I will have to constantly push myself out of my comfort zone and over what I percieved to be my limits. That I am a man and therefore society doesn't have any sympathy at all for weak men on the ground and nobody will offer a helping hand to me.

And finally becoming a man of action and not of words, dedicated solely to his own morality and code of honour, instead of relying on society to offer me guides and directions.

This is a really inspiring story. Both because it resonates with me on so many levels and also because it's a powerful positive tale of victory. Despite all the anger phase posts here, finding these great motivators makesTRP like a little surprise pocket of warm sun on a bitter winter day. Glad to read you're doing better, mate. Good on ya! ( and would love to hear the backstory...)

In terms of TRP, I would say that this does not apply. In terms of MRA, it is a huge contribution. TRP, while not rejecting these ideas, falls more into a "take charge of your life" and "make yourself happy" path. I think TRP is more about making changes to prevent yourself from falling into the pitfalls mentioned in the post.

Please can you add some more content to your post. It has great value and it would be a shame to lose it because it's just a link.

Emotional? Certainly.

Accurate? Definitely.

It's heavy on emotional triggers, but rather light on theory, ideas, explanations or anything else proactive or explanatory.

This equates to the manosphere version of "mah oppreshun".

Not a bad thing, because acknowledging and experiencing these suppressed negative emotions is deeply cathartic.

But let's not forget that, by and large, men still run shit in society. Our power may have waned since the glory days of patriarchy, but when shit gets done, it is done by men.

It was men who allowed the current state of things to come into existence. Either through directly promoting blue pill values, or by remaining silent and allowing it to happen.

Let's not spend too much time cowered in the fetal position.

Let's not waste too much energy celebrating our suffering, petitioning to become latest leftist victim group.

Men don't need a call to tears. We need a call to arms.

It was written for Women to read and accept it. Keep that in mind. TRP is written by men who don't give a fuck about audience.

I'm confident he would be able to write a different piece that would fulfill theory/explanations, but he knows it won't be as accepted and understand by the OS. Girls hate it when you talk any sort of theory or try to actually explain their poor actions/decisions. He sounds like he is trying to rally up some support.

We're not united. And I don't really see that happening anytime soon.

Maybe if a war happens. Otherwise most men will just masturbate and play video games.

Maybe if a war happens.

We're already at war, bro. But it's a new form of warfare for the modern era. Look into 4th Generatiion Warfare.

Sides are commies vs everybody else.

Men don't determine WHAT gets done, just how. We're the clumsy right hand of the oligarchy.

The Reddit post I was reading before I said "FTW, I'm heading to/r/TheRedPill" was an article linked from /r/books about the real life sad story that the novel Lolita was based on.

I stopped reading after this: "She wouldn’t have to call her mother from jail—her poor, overworked mother, Ella, still grappling with the suicide of her alcoholic husband, Sally’s father, five years earlier."

The problem is so pervasive, so entrenched, so expected. Men are work horses and objects; expected to be dutiful robots and self-sacrificers.

This isn't the result of feminism, this is how the world has always worked... The only difference is, prior to feminism, men could take pride in leading their families and fathering their children; this was the exchange- you work yourself to death and you get respect in exchange.

Feminism successfully created a world of all expectation and no-return for men, and this is why /r/theredpill exists; this is why marriage is dying; this is why there will not be reliable male birth control- because the world is making it possible for even the most plugged-in male to say FUCK THAT NOISE and check out.

Most quotes are bullshit, but wow if this one isn't extremely true.

Add a commentary on why you think this is TRP relevant and I'll approve your post.

This is a good post, but you should have written a summary to go with it. Its content speaks for itself but without a summary that link could just be retarded bullshit for all anyone knows.

I think that is a really good comment but you have to take it in context, and it is how we react to that reality that truly decides our fate. The reality of living in a confused existence, no identity, video games as an escape, not knowing oneself or being able to deal with the reality around you because you've been conditioned to fight against yourself for your entire life, all of these things resonate with me and many others who experienced years of struggling with being a beta.

However, this comment is only the first step. Realizing something is wrong with masculinity in today's society and that men are suffering through a lack of identity only gets you so far. Afterwards, you have to make a choice in life. And yet, this choice is not really a choice at all, it's almost whether or not you get lucky enough to be enlightened by those around you or places like TRP.

Personally, I always knew there was something wrong with the shit I was being fed. I always knew being a little "beta" bitch, as I would eventually learn it was called, was not the way to happiness, success, or fulfillment in life. And yet, despite my knowledge of this fact I could not pull myself up out of the muk and change because I was blind. I really had no way to know which direction I should take because I was so confused. I wasn't sure what was true, only that I had no truth.

The part of that comment that resonates the most with me is

There is no visible group advocating for a balanced masculinity or an open discussion on male identity. Male problems aren't even on the radar. If you don't ask for help what do you do? You do the only thing you can do, you internalize your pain, you ignore it and it grows silently. Who is going to help you through this? Is there anything more terrifying to society than a man who needs help? Have you ever seen a grown man cry in public? It's unsettling.

We are that group. We are the guidance for men, young and old. TRP is what clears away all the bull shit and gives each man the method to find his own path. This is the beauty I see in TRP. Where before I was blind to any truth, TRP showed me how to find my truth. It isn't the path itself, as a religion or other belief system would be. Instead, it is the tool we use to guide us in our own individual path and identity.
