Chicken is a very easy dish to make. There are many combinations of herbs and spices to make a great dish. Lay the chicken on the baking sheet. Sprinkle salt and pepper. That is your home base. From there, you can add hundreds of ingredients (not at the same time) so that you could eat chicken everyday and it never taste the same twice.

Buy thin chicken breasts that come as like, tenders I think? Or buy a breast that's thick and cut it down into tenders. Go to your stovetop, get a pan on there, medium heat, add in some extra virgin olive oil. Lay out your chicken on a cutting board and use a meat tenderizer (the metal hammer thing no one uses) or just use the bottom of a pot and smack all the chicken down to the same thickness. You wanna go down to about a quarter inch at most. Now, hit that chicken with at the bare minimum, freshly ground pepper and a sprinkle of salt. You can buy a grinder and peppercorns for like 10 bucks total. Next, you can either add spices, or herbs, or both. Spices like ginger, paprika, cumin, they're all gonna give you different flavors. Then for herbs you got cilantro, basil, parsley, etc. Just grab a few when you're buying the chicken. Next, when that oil starts to smoke, lay your chicken in, evenly spread out, seasoned side down. Now season the other side. When it looks like the chicken is halfway cooked through, flip it.

You can eat two breasts with rice for dinner. Cook up a bunch and throw the rest in your fridge. You can cut up two breasts, toss it with olive oil, spinach, nuts (cashews, pecans, whateva), and some kind of dried fruit (pineapple, banana chips, cranberries) and bam, you have lunch for work. Take that salad in, maybe get some apples to go with it one week, peaches the next. Little things of Oikos yogurt are a dollar a piece - and you can throw in a scoop of protein powder to double the protein content. I usually grab my salad from the fridge at work and throw my yogurt in the freezer. I eat my salad and come back to my yogurt when I'm done. Why throw it in the freezer? Because slightly chilled yogurt is froyo - healthy ice cream for lunch.

Eating healthy is fun and fucking delicious when you're not a little bitch about it. You're not gonna maintain a diet of foods you hate for more than a month. Just learn to eat better.

If there's a trader Joe's by you, do yourself a favor and buy trader Joe's everyday seasoning. Buy a pack of boneless skinless thigh meat because it's more flavorful that bitch ass chicken breast. Put the chicken in a Ziploc bag with a tiny bit of coconut oil or olive oil. Crack a good amount of the seasoning into the bag and mix it around. I use a George Foreman grill just about every day because it's fast and clean up is easy. The Foreman makes the chicken nice and crispy on both sides. Now get some spring mix and put it in a salad bowl. Sprinkle balsamic vinegar and olive oil on your greens and toss. Chop your chicken and throw that in the salad along with some fresh parmesan cheese. This is an easy, healthy meal and clean up is quick. It's a great feeling to be able to cook myself something delicious and healthy in my own place. Once clean up is done in ready to go hunting for poon

Imo instead of baking chicken its much better to broil it.

After seasoning your chicken, set oven to broil, put it in, after 5 min flip it, after anothr 5 mins itll be ready.

Also, some spices, like tandoori masala can be mixed with plain yogurt, then rubbed onto thd chicken. It improves the flavor and keeps the chicken much juicier.

another super easy chicken method, that I use a lot. take frozen chicken, put it in a crock pot, cover chicken with water (a couple of inches should do it), throw in a handful of rosemary, turn crock pot on medium for a few hours (I do this before leaving for work in the morning). this is a good way if you plan on shredding it for bbq

Cooking time will very significantly depending on the thickness of the cut and what temperature the meat is at when you put it in the oven. A whole bird takes an hour at 400 degrees. Unless you sear a chicken breast on both sides before putting it in the oven, it won't be fully cooked through at the thickest part if it's more than half an inch thick and you'll only get a half inch thick breast by pounding it. Take the guess work out by buying a food thermometer. A decent one goes for 25 bucks on Amazon. Check the meat by sticking the tip into the center of the thickest part. Chicken breast is done at 160-165, Thigh/legs 175. The internal temperature will continue to rise 5-10 degrees over the next 5 -10 minutes. It's important to let all meat rest 5-10 minutes after its done to allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat. If you don't, the juices will run when you cut into it and you'll be left with dried meat.

Fearing illness, most people tend to over cook their food to be on the safe side. A friend ate a pork chop I had cooked and realized it wasn't that he disliked porkchops, the only pork chops he had had were his dad's who would cook the shit out of them, making them tough, dry and inedible. I've had many people thank me for recommending a digital food thermometer. The few who don't take my advice are dudes who have something to prove--thinking using one somehow brings their masculinity into question. And their food is usually under or over cooked. But for them that's okay because putting in the time, effort and money to produce shit is just more confirmation of how manly they are because idgaf.
