The thing that kinda triggered this thought process was an ordeal I had with an attractive girl today. Over time I’ve kinda built a bit of a mental image of myself and what I aspire to be. This image is basically the opposite of how I’ve grown up. To give you an idea I grew up a fat lonely awkward gamer kid with no nuts and no aspirations. Very few but close niche friends. Now days I have very different ideals, expectations of myself & life, and carry myself much differently. Anyways today I had this experience with this girl and long story short, all my social skills and self confidence went out the window. And yes, it was bad, no exaggeration. For a while I turned back into that kid with no balls that i despised being. I haven’t had that happen in a long time, I felt like I was 15 again. I haven’t been in a situation like this with an attractive girl, Makes me feel like when push comes to shove, I haven’t really changed shit. I just revert back completely.

It probably sounds dumb the way I’m putting it, and going off a single instance. But I guess it was a mental shock just falling apart like that and has kinda made me question myself. Then it kinda leads into other things, questioning what I’ve really changed over the years from being a kid to 21y/o. I haven’t accomplished anything tangible even though I feel like I strive so hard to, but the one thing I thought I had was that I’d grown into a different man. Then I have this experience and all I think is “well fuck, got nothin under my belt now.”

There’s nothing tangible to really prop up REAL confidence either now that I think about it. I’m in good shape compared to most people, but look like shit compared to what I used to. I’m super average looking, & acquiring any real money has been a very rough road for me after failures on many different avenues, even though again, I’ve strived so hard for it & even obsessed over it.

I guess I’m just kinda venting my thoughts here and maybe I can get someone else’s.
