This begs the question, is this hypergamy in action?? Or... what?

Granted, Duncan seems to be more mellow than most NBA players, so maybe she was attracted to the "bad boy" personal trailer?

I keep mine in check by actually cheating on her every now and then.

In my mind, i would be like "oh, you cheated on me? Either were done or im just gonna fuck other women." In her head, its like "oh, you cheated on me? I must not be worth much and there are other women who want you. I better start making an effort."

If she's fucking somebody else, then I don't think him fucking other people, or ending the relationship, is unjustified.

Maybe his wording can come across as aggressive, but it doesn't make him wrong in all cases. If anything, I'd say his behaviour is a direct response to how women act in general.

He's acting on the premise that women are opportunistic in nature. If she has reason to believe he has cheated - and note that he may not have actually cheated - this means that her mate can attract other women, which increases his sexual market value in her eyes.

Simple example. Have you ever noticed that you receive more attention from women when you are in a relationship (or with a woman) than when you are not? I've seen it happen, and it's happened to me. Suddenly, more and more women want you. Even women who before, wouldn't give you a second glance. Sleep with the head cheerleader, and all the other cheerleaders will start giving you blowjob/disney eyes.

If the relationship were to be listed on Facebook (or if the man just has pictures of him with desirable women at his side, AND if he looks confident in them), I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of "likes" increase.

Just more evidence that you need to ruthlessly test a woman before committing to her. I'm not going to say "zero tolerance" since that implies a lack of critical thinking, but it needs to be incredibly stringent. if NBA stars aren't safe playing the "nice guy" in relationships fucking no one is.

What's worse, getting labelled as "controlling" or getting cuckolded?
