They should just stick all the female feminists on their own plot of land and see how long they'll last for!

[–]fluviant 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The initial quote on that article sums that up pretty well.

What oil needed changing in 345BC? Lamp oil?

Whale / seal oil

If all men didn't go to work tomorrow, the world would crash.

And probably burn.

A future without men:

Innovation dies or slows considerably, women reluctantly take up the dirty but necessary jobs (yknow, the ones they arent fighting for more female representation in, like cleaners and sewerage treatment), productivity in large corporations go down, education standards drop to the point where more time is spent on interpersonal dynamics than mathematics or science.

the military is disbanded, and then your country gets invaded by some superpower that is resource hungry and still has men to do their fighting. You lose.

Your country gets annexed back into a patriarchal society.

Everything comes full circle.

[–]Ronfar 20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Exactly.

The only way a matriarchal, female separatist society could ever exist is through:

  1. Extreme isolation
  2. A robot slave class to do all the dirty work

Then again, even if those conditions were met, they would probably still kill each other eventually anyway.

Lol, thanks for that link. I was going to write the same thing - women are worse at getting along with each other than men are. Men are just a strawman - a scapegoat - just look at lesbians. Are they all living in harmony like the man-haters claimed they would be? No. They have have just as many - if not more - relationship issues than men have.

[–]Ronfar 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Try working in an all-woman workplace like I have. It's full of bitchiness and passive-aggressive attacks to one another.

Here's another funny link to a family guy episode where Stewie puts all the main men in the show in a computer simulation. He does the same test on the women and in 3 mins they're already killing each other.

[–]1PaulRivers10 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha, oh no - I know! I used to work at a place like that. It was kind of nice for me, but that's only because I got to go back to my department between watching the drama happen. Most guys didn't have much negative to say about other guys, but girls always had multiple other girls they had some beef against for some reason.

It just follows the relationship dynamic - men are more leaders. They have conflicts, but they want to resolve them. Women are followers, on the surface everything looks fine but that's because all the infighting is happening behind the scenes.

That's a hilarious video, thanks for posting it.

It is easy to spit feminist rhetoric behind the comfort of a keyboard as a salaried life-long employee of the New York Times.

In fact I still dream of a day when news journalism, not opinion journalism, dominates news sources.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

i can barely stand the daily newspaper. there's so little actual news and so much trash and opinions. i could give less of a fuck what some dusty old cunt who usually does a radio show thinks about something if it's in the newspaper. if i cared i'd listen to his droning on the radio. I get my news from zite, i choose what's relevant to my interests and rarely get any crap.

The financial papers like WSJ or financial times are worthwhile

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

papers intended for boring old farts are usually pretty good, you just get the news. I'd like something a bit more inspiring though with more world news, more science and medicine and more art and design news.

[–]pourneTrilogy 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wow op, how could you post something that so thoroughly offended me without at least a trigger warning?! You just come in OUR sub thinking it's like TOTALLY OKAY to share this vile hatred without offending anyone?! Like REALLY?!

I mean what kind of sick writer would make fun of the Redskins like that?

Go outside and look around, every brick and every timber of every building you see was put there by a man. All the asphalt of the roads, the electricity that runs thru the power lines and the engineering and designing of all the cars, bridges and infrastructure was done by men. The skyscrapers, the oil wells, the sewers, the power plants, the landfills all maintained by men. There might a few exceptions of crews with tomboys and hard working women, but next time you see that hot chick at the bar, do you think she's ever lifted a finger to do the real labor that forms the bedrock of America?

[–]positiveeagle 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The initial reaction:

"You dumb bitch! Why'd you get rid of all the men?! Now women are going to have to do all the hard work now!"

[–]MockingDead 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm... My house was built by a man. The dryer vent was cleaned out by a man. The plumber? A man. My mechanic, a man. The cable lines - installed by a man.

Not one thing of function in my house was built or maintained by a woman.

Not even the cooking. Food was raised by a man, butchered by a man, packaged by a man and shelved by a man. If it weren't for the checkout line, no woman would have been involved.

Women have wombs. That is their value to society. And most modern women leverage the shit out of their pussy.

And when you aren't buying, they call you misogynist.

[–]Nemester 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Over the summer my twelve year old nephew asked, in all seriousness, if men were worthless and unneeded. This is something a classmate had expressed to him, and it seemed like a reasonable question for him to ask based on his experiences at school.

There is no way that I can adequately express my rage about this. The leftoids are literally trying to destroy children.

[–]CarbonNightmare -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't see how getting worked up over this would be any different to feminists getting worked up over some dudes opinion.

[–]boydeer 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you make a good point. but the only thing that seems to work some people up is how much traction this idea has gained. you have men who think they're pointless, and that makes me a little sad. you have women who overvalue themselves so much that talking to them is painful, and that frustrates me.

but all in all, recognizing that this part of the landscape can only be empowering.
