I actually like to keep mine on. I just ignore it and take forever to respond.

I know for a fact that the hamster goes WILD when she knows you read it, but didn't respond. Her mind goes crazy trying to figure out why.

The real tip would be to actually be unavailable.

Have times where you're so absorbed in what you're doing that you don't even check your phone.

When I'm at work (classified area so no cell phones allowed), at the gym, reading, etc., I don't check my phone.

Any girl that's around you for a while will notice that you always keep your phone on you and consider that when you're trying to make it seem like you're not available.

Social media is far too invasive in everyone's personal privacy today. It's wise not to use your real name or give out 100% accurate information about yourself on the internet, but I'm just preaching to the choir now.

Even if it's old and nobody would ever think to look for it, go delete all of your old accounts, close them, whatever you gotta do. If you don't use them anymore, nuke'm. Then go do a background check on yourself and get that shit removed. Your personal information is always being sold to the highest bidder online, believe it.

People are slowly losing their freedoms as the noose tightens around our necks, boys. You should have a right to anonymity if you opt not to share that information.

I actually leave them on, on purpose. You are actually able to read the text right away by pulling the notifications tab down (drag down starting at the top of your screen) this doesn't give them the read receipt so they're not left wondering if you read it or not. They 'know' you haven't read it yet, but you actually have. A rare example of eating your cake and having it too.

I, like a few others already in this thread, would like to proclaim the opposite. The beauty of reality though, is that, there's no right or wrong answer to the question, "should my read receipts be on or off?"

If your phone is on you all the time and you're constantly checking/using it, you're clearly not busy and are readily available. You might not have enough self control to keep your phone away from you, but that's okay, since you can simply turn off the read receipts.

On the other hand, if you are truly engaged in other activities, if you are truly the man that swallowing TRP is supposed to make you, then you won't have time to check your phone. When she knows your receipts are on and you still haven't read the text she sent you, she truly is wondering, "why hasn't he read my text yet? Is he busy? Is he with another girl?"

Whereas, with receipts off, she will hamster her way into, "oh he's just working or playing video games or something. He wouldn't ignore me. I can just pretend I was too busy and make him think I'm ignoring him!"

It's weird and I know it sounds like it could easily be the other way around. But you might be even more surprised at how women think when it comes to this. Not to mention, read receipts circumvent the childish games of seeming unavailable and deliberately ignoring what someone sent you.

It's been my experience that when someone is obviously playing the ignore game, it doesn't end well. If a girl does that to me, she doesn't get another text and she likely won't get a second chance, unless I'm setting myself up to be laid by the end of the night. When I tried it with girls, they just pushed back the same way. Tried to be unavailable, when really, I know she's in bed watching netflix and eating ice cream.

We could have had sex that night!! Alas... We won't because we decided to play games. Like I said, this is just my experience and usually, I assume better of someone who has their receipts on. If they are off, I know for a fact they have them off because they are guilty of reading texts instantly because they are glued to their phone literally all day long.

I think the problem there stems from these people aren't really busy. They might be at work or in class, but they are still on their phone. They work a front office gig where the only real work they do is greeting someone when they come in and arranging for them to meet their superiors. So, with nobody there, they have nothing to do. They aren't paying attention in class, so they want to be entertained. cue flappy bird

So back to my point, women think that way because, with receipts off, the person is pretending to be busy. Most of us know they opened that text as soon as they got it, though. Whereas, with receipts on, you could try to force yourself to believe they are purposely ignoring it, but the reality is, it's more likely that they legitimately are busy and haven't noticed the notification they got.

The idea here isn't just to fake being a man who is unavailable. It's to BE an unavailable man, who will get back to her when it's convenient for you. That's what texting is for, after all.

So, I think the major take away is this: there's a correct method to use depending on how active/busy you truly are. If you don't have the self control to not look at your phone constantly, either force yourself to turn it off for periods of time, or turn the receipts off. Hopefully, you're constantly improving yourself to the point that you are a man, who will read and respond to texts when he has time. In which case, receipts work to your advantage.

Hahahaha if I was writing a book about how to cheat consistently and never get caught or tripped up, the first chapter would be "Optimize your fucking phone you dumbass no-pass-code-having, text-popping up idiot." I travel around the bay area from zone to zone in any given day, and my GF will always comment and ask about what I'm doing in each place. Not that she suspects I'm cheating, it's more indicative of the fact that women agonize over these silly little details like "Sent from San Mateo" versus "Sent from Mountain View". Disable that, disable the read receipts, don't pick 1234 as your PW, turn the passcode setting to immediate rather than 15 minutes or even 3 minutes. I got a girl snooping that way because I had mine on passcode activate after 3 minutes of being shut off, because it was annoying to have to enter it in whenever I wanted to change songs. But she got in it, not that there was much to find. Curiously enough, she had gotten in my email too.

Your phone is like girl-crack, she will make a play for it at some point, first testing by probes like above and monitoring these little things like read receipts, but eventually she will want to get in it.

It also keeps her thinking about you when she sends a message. She has NO idea if you've read it or not, which will cause her to be over-thinking about if you're ignoring her, genuinely away from your phone or busy (always good to be busy). All these factors incite attraction and will make her work harder for you.

Also you can always get away with, "I didn't catch your text".

If you spend more than a second thinking this over, you need to step back and reconsider your priorities. You're getting caught up in the details and not the big picture. Frankly, I just left it whatever setting it was and found that I can choose to read my texts whenever. I assume when people see you've read it and don't respond, it becomes a more powerful message sent than them not knowing whether you read it or not. It doesn't allow anyone to rationalize reasons why you haven't responded. You don't respond, because you have nothing to say or don't want to respond, not because you're playing hard to get. If I like a girl, I'll message her back immediately because I WANT TO and if she says something I don't like or have no response to then i'll NOT respond. You're still trying to think in terms of her rather than what you want. If you spin plates, this mentality will come naturally and you won't try to do everything perfect. Leave it on, leave it off. It really doesn't matter in the big picture. This belongs more in a seduction reddit than here. You're thinking in the right direction in terms of behavior but stop trying to be perfect and start getting the bigger picture. Now go out and fail and then try again until you get it.

This function is one of my favorites!

I can read the beginning of the text and then make out its priority. If she's rambling with a long text, just keep it there and answer it when you have time.

It's a strong but subtle message, "I have not had time to read your rant" vs "I read your message. I choose not to respond"

Women go crazy over that shit.

Um...does that actually tell them when you read the message? On my android phone, the similar settings just confirms that they got the message. So it says that it got delivered to my phone, but doesn't say anything about when I actually opened it up and read it.
