Inviting girls to a party for free isn't beta, it's business. Women will be more likely to go since it's free. Men will be more likely to go because women are more likely to go.

It's very easy to approach. Are you doing anything better that night based on whatever you perceive to be better? If the answer is yes, don't go.

Meh, maybe he's done this in the past and it seemed like a bit of a sausage-fest.

Sometimes nightclubs charge differently for men vs. women. Maybe a woman complained that the men ate more and it feels like she's paying for some random guy's food. It's more blatant in this situation but price discrimination is all around us.

Anyway, he may or may not be beta but I don't think this is a point for or against. At the gym, he's a man of business first and foremost so his decisions should be made around that frame of mind.

If I was in your situation, if it's like $15 or less, I'd go since it's probably reasonable for the cost of hosting, providing food and refreshments, etc. and providing a venue to hang out with other gym members (consider how much it would be if you all met at a bar).

Yo. Don't get caught up on paying for the women.

If you're going, you're going for the networking aspect. If the pros outweigh the cons, do it.

Is the cost worth the networking opportunity to you? If so, go for it. Don't worry about the chicks. If you're lucky, you might catch a plate or two.

I would find out who's catering the event. If it's something good like BBQ and cake, I would ask how much the buy in is. If it's like 10-15 bucks, I would go. Get there early, eat like Ron Swanson, meet some cool dudes and hot women and then eat again. Not bad for 10-15 bucks. Cheaper than cover at a nice bar and your place is right around the corner if you pull a bitch.

What gym is this Planet Fitness? Because this sounds like some Planet Fitness bullshit. I would guess the reason for the party is so people CAN get to know each other. It's a marketing tool, the more people you know at the gym the more inclined you are to stay at the gym
