SUMMARY: Vary your news sources. Choose extremes in addition to your normal media sources. All media pushes a viewpoint, so vary your viewpoints to become a more informed citizen and man.

BODY Let's talk about something infinitely more important than women for a change, eh? Let's talk about yourself. Specifically: Your brain.

Making good decisions. Gaining wisdom. Knowing your place in the universe. These are aspects that are worth developing and can only be achieved through being informed. It's easy to be educated. Hell, even a literal chicken who can raise tuition and peck a keyboard can get an online degree in something. But being informed takes work. It requires a person to actively and constantly seek out news. But like all good exercise, it gets easier through repetition.

However, as you gather information, be constantly vigilant to avoid THE BUBBLE. This is something that happens when a person only gets news from one outlet, and as a result becomes more ignorant than when they started. Gathering information is a active process. But media (internet, tv, radio) is passive. All media shapes the information to be easily taken in without stimulating the logic centers of the brain too much.

This is a critical problem in two ways. First, as men we are logic oriented. Secondly, it makes it appear that just passively reading or watching news is enough to become informed. It isn't. Gathering information is the first step, analyzing the information is the second step. And because most media relies heavily on emotion and shorts us on analysis, it's up to the reader to place context and meaning.

A great tool to help is to vary your sources of information widely. This means if you're an American conservative, be sure to have a news source that is some faggoty tree-hugging white-apologizing bleeding-heart hippy swill. If you're an American liberal, you should be getting news from a source that is a redneck, xenophobic, flag-humping bible-thumping hate machine.

The reason to have extremes in news sources isn't to "study the enemy" or laugh at ignorant sheeple. It's to recognize that the same shrill voice screaming that the President is going to take everyone's guns away is the same shrill voice screaming that a new President will imprison all gay people. Once you learn to detect and dismiss spin, you become more informed.

And finally, recognize that even THE RED PILL puts you at risk of being in an information bubble. Yes, it has amazing insight. And yes, it can motivate you to seize life by the balls. It is a fantastic source of information, but don't let it be your only source of information.

TL/DR: Vary your news sources. Become informed. If you only listen to one viewpoint, you'll only have one viewpoint. Having just one viewpoint makes you boring and often wrong.
