Yo. So, I work as a server at a restaurant. There's a bunch of girls working there, several that are cute. Almost all quite young compared to me (I'm 30). They all think I'm hilarious and I give them all shit and flirt with them, and I know I'm well liked there.

This one chick I dig the most, that I also fuck with the hardest (neg type stuff) does all the flirty things. Punches me, acts shocked when I give her shit, gives me the pretty eye, etc. Asks me what day I'm working next, says she hopes she trains with me at work (I say damn... uh, I was kinda hoping I'd never have to see your little jr. high school face again. Her jaw drops, she punches my arm, I fight the urge put my hand down the front of her pants, etc.)

Today, she randomly says some offhand shit that I can't completely figure out. Out of nowhere- "If I didn't know you from the restaurant and you approached me after a basketball game, I'd be worried that I should call the cops. Do you smoke? not weed, but like cigarettes? you look like one of those people who smoke, like just the way your face looks. You remind me of my grandpa."

This other manager there (not sure if he reads RP, but he says some downright textbook RP shit sometimes) hears her say this, says "WTF you girls have such a double standard. you expect us to never say anything about your in a negative way, but then you say some offhand shit like that. How do you think it feels to be told something like that"

huh? Best I can figure, she was trying to see how I would react to a negative comment about myself, whether true or not. And honestly, internally I was like... wow, do I come off as aggressive? am I creepier looking than I'm aware? Do I seem that old to these 20-somethings? Are my teeth yellow? Does she have the hots for me because I remind her of her granpappy? The basketball comment made no sense to me, except for the fact that I'm like 6'9".

Anyway, I do dig the chick and want to get her crushing on me hard. But now I'm internally trying to figure out if these things are true about me from other people's point of view, or if I should just give this bitch the cold shoulder for straight putting me down to my face. Or if it's kind of endearing that she's crushing on me and just doesn't quite know how to act, blurting out weird shit. (Girl coworkers told me she likes me.) Or if i'm reading way too far into what some dumb little girl said. In the latter case, whatever she said is having more effect than I should let it, giving it this much thought at all. A trap to see if I would be beta and read way into it. AAAAAAAAAh i'm doing it!
