Sounds like she's doing you a favor. She's not interested, and she's letting you know straight up.

The "likes talking to you comment" might just be her way of acting nice because she feels bad about flaking. Take it with a grain of salt.

If she keeps trying to maintain a casual texting-basis with you, ignore it. Don't be an orbiter. It's up to you now - go all in or all out. Responding with "who said date?" is just stupid. You'll come off as defensive and hurt. Just persist if you want to make something happen, or ignore her completely if it seems like it will go nowhere.

Instead of only speculating what the woman actually wanted, you should ask her what she does want. Be frank and ask her what her intentions with you had been. Maybe she had gotten the feeling from you that you wanted a relationship, which it sounds like she isn't ready for now.

Communicate with her instead of sending some childish response.
