This guy I grew up with used to do that. You could count on it every time. He was a funny dude. But if a pretty chick came around suddenly the insults and jokes were directed at us. I didn't understand it before. I knew he wanted to show off and make himself look better but now I realize he was doing that to try to demonstrate his value or prove he was Alpha of the group. And he couldn't do that naturally so he had to knock us down or try to embarrass us to do it. And the hilarious thing is most of the girls would choose him (at least 65% of the time). It was disgusting how someone could salt others game like that. And he wonders why we're no longer friends.

I have a brother in-law like this. He takes shots at me but plays it off as joking around of course, which would be fine if I knew him, but I've only met him twice in my life.

It's like he's trying to establish his position above me. If I take shots back at him I'll be seen as defensive and lower value. I just completely ignored him. Not sure what the best tactic is. Maybe agree and amplify or a re-frame would be better.

I have a long time friend like this. He was raised by his mother with nothing but sisters so catiness is what he knows. He's a shameless one-upper. A&A works with him but before I found TRP I didn't recognize that this guy verbally cockblocked me for years because he would run me down and I wouldn't engage (because friends don't do that to each other, right?). The shitty part about this behavior is that it works with women. He's overweight, largely useless but he rips on everyone around him and women flock as a result because of the air of fake confidence. You can't just maintain your frame with a guy like this, you have to cut his nuts off publicly. He will fuck up your game constantly until you start putting him in his place.

The reason they do this is because they feel comfortable around you. They take your respect and friendship for granted. If they flip the script and put you down in front of others, then they are just using you as the device to bond with others. Stay away from these types, for when serious things happen they will throw you under the bus to save their own ass. Also, remember to tell the difference between banter and actual insulting. Finally, never ever put yourself in a situation where they can take advantage of you. Do not trust them.

Great theory here, i agree on most parts.

I will go in debt if you do this in front of women, and the HUGE POWER it have.

But do remember just women with high standards can see through fake Alpha's. Women with lower standards can't see this, and they go for the "Wanna be Alpha".

You should never talk badly of a guy/friend in front of Women. Women have a special quality of getting a clue, and will see right through that. And the guy that is badly spoken of, will actually rise value in the eyes of the Hot women. So its kinda like advertising.

A TRUE Alpha/ Player has enemies and haters. The haters will talk badly of him because they are jealous, and women will grab on to that. So this is will Result in increasing value for the Player. And when that happens, we can call it advertising, FREE ADVERTISING. The haters do the work for you. Crazy, huh?

They're hustling you pretty much. They're hustling you into a friendship just to use you as a prop to inflate their own ego, and then hustle someone else into their frame. They're fake alphas because they need the validation to feel secure with themselves because they push out no external value. They know the world doesn't need them. And they can't be trusted because they were using you as a prop anyways, they think you're disposable, they never respected you.

The fact of the matter is they are constantly chasing an emotional high, no matter where it comes from. The problem with emotions is that they're fleeting. They come and go. Emotions are manifested from the self, people don't give you emotions. Women feel like they love you, fake Alphas feel like they are superior. Investing in your emotions is like a dog chasing its own tale.

If you want to draw parallels. This is similar to how a woman draws orbiters into her frame on instagram, facebook, younameitgenericwomanapp. They use you to inflate their egos and importance the same way a fake alpha would. It makes them feel like a pretty princess.

A trait I have noticed from all successful entrepreneurs and executives I have met is that they never talk shit about other people.

Talking down about others and gossiping is fun in the moment but leaves a bitter taste in peoples mouth. People wonder what you are saying about them behind their backs; it makes you untrustworthy. I've always seen this behavior as low value insecure people attempting to pull others down to their level in something of a shit test. Bad for business, bad for life.

From a pickup perspective however, this presents a great opportunity with gossipy cunts to take the upper hand in the conversation and establish frame. Chastise her like a child and watch the tingles.

I just came back from a long day outside chilling with my 'Best Friend'. Earlier today, I introduced my buddy to some of my other, older friends, and he immediately starts degrading me. These are friends who genuinely respect me and I really did not like him trying to embarrass me like that in front of these guys. The guy is bunking with me at my place right now and is sound asleep. I was so frustrated by his behaviour today and decided to seek some solace from TRp. Lo and behold, this post pops up with perfect timing.

My friend will be all cool and caring and a typical bro when it's just me and him, but add a couple of other people and suddenly he starts joking around and degrading me, trying to get all 'Fake Alpha' It gets difficult to put up with, especially since he'll be my roommate at college for the next 4 years. I'd really appreciate some solid advice on how to shut this guy up for the next 4 years. I can't cut him off. There simply is no one else in my class who I can hang out with, and all of our interests are aligned. He genuinely can be chill to hang out with in 1 on 1, but the negative aspect of him blatantly putting me down in front of others is getting progressively irritating. I could really use some help.

Had a group of ex-friends exactly like that. They have no real talent, not exactly good at anything, but mocked me for spending most of my time practicing my music (we were in a band and most of them seriously aren't as dedicated to the music as i was/am). I started improving myself last year and figured out I couldn't tolerate people who constantly put me down, so I simply ignore them and cut them loose. I don't think we would ever meet again.

In my high school friend group we had a guy like this. We'd always say "he's just trying to bust your balls" once someone would get butt hurt over something he said. He eventually left our group for the "cool" group of kids. I had the opportunity to do so with him, but I would much rather be with my not so cool friends then with a bunch of pretentious cunts + my fake Alpha buddy. Most of his new friends as well as himself decided to go to the same uni. It made me laugh when he told me he only had one kill, despite being in a uni that's known to be a party uni with a great girl to guy ratio. Fake Alpha defines these types of dudes perfectly.

They act really nice towards you, get youengaged in conversation. Then half way through they'll say something "yea that's a cool story" theb walk off like they weren't ever listening in the first place.
