Not much else at this point, until you can see what the exact claim is and work a defense from there. This is a little taste of the reality of why there's TRP and growing Men's Rights movements. The definition of rape is slowly being changed to include more innocuous interactions, data is constantly being manipulated to create a rape-fearing society (especially on campuses). It's easy enough to google campus sexual assault statistics; you can see a huge variety of information that is very questionable.

Keep your nose clean, head on straight. And consider what kinds of precautions you will take in the future to protect yourself from these types of allegations. I've read on here about men who put cameras in their house or recorded their interactions with women; and it's not crazy to take these steps. Women have this weird way of changing their minds after the fact, depending on how their emotions change and their memory changes as time goes on.

Source: Am an attorney. Decades of experience have shown me that clients fuck themselves up when they (a) try to explain shit to people with badges, (b) don't do what I tell them to do. Side Note: It's usually the "smart" guys who get themselves in to trouble. The "dumb" guys are more likely to do what they're told, and thus have a greater chance of staying out of trouble, or at least minimizing the damage.

The police are duty bound to investigate this. But not to prosecute. I'd be amazed if they don't talk to you if she files a claim that has any merit at all.

Try to ignore this until it happens. Stuff you can do meanwhile though: collect all information possible on your whereabouts at the times you were with her (receipts, diary entries, phone call history, everything you can think of). Make copies.

One more piece of advice. Women do this as revenge and to exonerate themselves when they get a new boyfriend or because they had a boyfriend at the time. Also due to social pressure from other people. Also due to wanting to prove once and for all they are not sluts. Also for attention.

So basically it's the same as a stalker. And you MUST treat her as a stalker. ZERO CONTACT. Communicate with her UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES. Do not talk to her, do not contact her, do not respond to her, avoid her in person.

The only way stalkers go away is if they get zero attention. This also protects her from setting you up - something women love to do. "First he raped me and now he's following me to a coffee shop" (neglecting to mention the bit where she invited you there to "straighten things out").

Do not fall for a "let's talk about this" or "let's straighten this out" text. That will be a further trap and will not benefit you.

The detective may simply opt not to follow up on it, because it is pointless. The prosecutor may tell the detective not to bother, after a consult.

Even if the cop does follow up, and it gets to the next level, the prosecutor may, again, just close the file.

For your part, your only words to any cop who calls is, "My lawyer's number is _______. I have nothing more to say to you about this." /hangup Don't listen to anything they say. Do not respond to a single question they ask. They are not there to help you, they are there to make a felony arrest.

If they are at your door, do NOT open the door to them unless they have a warrant. Make them show you the warrant before you open the door.

If you open it without realizing they are there, do NOT get out of their way when they try to enter your place. (Oh, you didn't know that cops try to walk in as soon as you open the door? Yup. They do. And they say you invited them in. No warrant needed now to enter.) If you start to open it and see them, close the door in their face. Do NOT invite them in. Do NOT meet with them outside your house.

In short, you must immediately and totally shut down all police attempts to interact with you. They are well-trained and experienced in interrogation and confrontation. You don't know shit, and are like a five year old in boxing ring with a contender.

If she's going to the cops and you are innocent and have a lawyer, you'll be good so long as you listen to your lawyer, do as they say, and completely ditch the green immediately. If she's going to the university, you're potentially in trouble. If you can fast track your graduation in some way, that would be wise.

Don't talk to the police. Not a single statement, not a single question. Nothing except, "I don't answer questions." Don't answer the door. If they don't have a warrant, they'll eventually leave. If they have a warrant, you're screwed anyway. Don't answer calls. Let them go to voicemail. Ignore the fucking voicemails.

DON'T SAY A GODDAMNED THING TO A COP. NOT TO "EXPLAIN" THINGS, NOT TO "CLEAR THINGS UP," NOT TO "CORRECT MISINFORMATION." SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Nothing you say can ever help the situation. The police don't give a fuck about the truth; they care about their arrest and prosecution numbers and quotas. All they're looking for is to incriminate you, even if you're innocent and they know it. That's their fucking job, and they're fucking scumbags. Save your texts. Get your attorney to contact the cop on your behalf, and tell him to only contact you through him. The cops should stop bothering you after that. Ask your attorney to clarify the nature of the complaint: the full details and everything. Still don't talk to the cops, and if your attorney suggests talking to the cop, even in his presence, hire a new attorney. In the same vein, don't talk to your ex.

A few months ago, this fucking feminist 18-year-old UCLA chick (seriously, she went on a whole spiel on how it's degrading that men only see black girls as sexual objects but not marriage material), who gave me loads of ASD/LMR anyway and left shortly after, made a police report against me for sexual assault. We didn't even have sex, and even then that happened. Soon enough, this LAPD detective was calling me and knocking on my door, repeatedly. I ignored everything. Sure enough, he dropped the case. It's been three months now, and I seem to be in the clear.

In the past, I've talked to the cops to clear things up. Guess what? I got fucking prosecuted and went to jail.

Moral of the story? Don't talk to the fucking cops. Period.

Edit: PS Cops are allowed to lie to you by law. Don't ever believe their threats or cajoling, e.g. they'll arrest you if you don't cooperate, or if you cooperate they'll put in a "good word" with the judge. It's all horse shit. Don't fucking talk or even listen to them.

Side story I recently went out with a girl who told me she was in therapy her last boyfriend raped her. I started digging in being red pill and all and turns out that she gave it up willingly to this guy but I guess he banged her like a whore and in her mind it was rape and she was doing that same crap telling people it was rape. Is your lawyer a criminal lawyer or some other specialty? If not, does his firm practice criminal law and have someone you can consult with? This isn't something for your tax attorney to handle.

There's a good chance she's spreading this rumor for two reasons, and not actually going to the police.

1 - she wants attention, validation, sympathy, etc

2 - she wants to elicit a reaction out of you. maybe closure, maybe that new guy dumped her

Even if the legal stuff is handled via advice from your attorney and the overall lack of evidence, there's the social aspect to consider. You have to get out in front of this with the people you care about now; her whole plan is to have them hear the accusation first and make a judgement on that alone. I wouldn't put anything in writing, but I'd proactively bring it up to friends you care about losing. Get people on your side now.
