TL;DR: Lost frame, lost out on a potential hookup to end my year-and-a-half long drought.

Like many newbies, I am a reforming beta. I always bought into the "be yourself" bullshit fed to me by my family and friends. Eventually, I got sick and tired of my relationship failures, so I sought out TRP. I immersed myself in the rhetoric to try and piece together a strategy.

I got the opportunity to put the theory into practice at a friend's party yesterday. There were a few cute girls, nothing to really write home about, but I was still trying to practice my game. Chatted up a 6/10 redhead, made a few subtle touches and a few good jokes. Alpha mode was engaged at full throttle for a short time. When she left to go hit the bars, we exchanged numbers. Now here is where I fucked up:

I get a text message from her saying how much she enjoyed spending time with me. I lost frame for a split second out of desperation and sent a beta text message. I immediately regretted it as I got a less than ideal response, which indicated to me that she was turned off. I have yet to hear back from her, and I don't anticipate that I will anytime soon.

So what are the lessons to be learned?

  • Just as it is important for us to learn from our successes, it is important to learn from our failures.
  • Never, and I mean NEVER, lose frame. If there is one thing to learn from the TRP, it's that frame is the most versatile tool for your arsenal. The second you lose it is the second you lose any progress that you had i.e. If you lose frame, you lose
  • (obvious lesson) When you fail, pick yourself back up and get back into it. I immediately moved on and started hitting on another chick to get back into the alpha flow.

This type of field report is very helpful for newbies like me; please learn from my mistake and never make it yourself.

Although it was a very forward invite, it totally reeked of desperate beta.
