Second field report, I will focus more on the day approach and not on the close.

Preface: I have only ever approached one girl, which was at the gym and I posted an FR about that as well.

Was walking to have lunch during lunch hour and saw a HB walking towards me. Made eye contact and she kept it with me until we passed each other.

This time round, I did not hamster away, but acted about 3 seconds after passing her. I did this intentionally as I felt it would be very abrupt to stop her immediately.

I turned back, tapped her inner shoulder, and introduced myself with a smile.

"Hey, I'm T."

She smiled back and looked very surprised. Went on to make small talk, I did not raise tension too much but teased her about the eye contact earlier, tapping her bicep area intermittently while teasing.

To note: She's 26, was in town to visit a friend that lives here. I'm 19, she does not know much about me as during small talk I asked open ended questions which made her do most of the talking.

Using the insight from my first FR, when the conversation started to die, I stated nonchalantly:

"I'm hungry, grab lunch with me."

She agreed and I brought her to a nice spot that I frequent (because its cheap and good).

During lunch, she threw her first and what I would consider the only shit-test at me:

"You look too young, look at your baby-face!" She said this as she pinched my cheek lightly.

"Yea? You like young blood don't you?" I Said it with an asymmetrical smile, strong eye contact, while twirling her hair with my finger which made her burst out in laughter.

This was when I knew it was on.

I asked for her number immediately after as I had to go back to work. Again, as concise as possible:

"Hey HB, give me your number, I have to go and I'll call you after work."

She obliged, I called her later after work to make plans.

"Hey HB, come over to my place tonight, I have a bottle of wine that I don't want to drink by myself."

She had already visited her friend that afternoon and took me up on my offer. I texted her my location and time:

"[My Address, 8pm]"

To note: My logistics really suck, I don't drive, place is a 15 minute bicycle ride outside of town, I don't drive so I could not pick her up but she still agreed which again confirmed that it was on.

We met at my place and absolutely did not have wine that night. She did not give any LMR or have ASD.

LESSONS LEARNED:

  1. Overcoming approach anxiety:

Rejection beats regret every single time. Someone said this in my previous FR which triggered the thought in my mind of missed opportunities. My first approach before this also helped me to understand that approaching should be fun, and is fun, and that if it doesn't work out, it doesn't matter anyway.

  1. You are the prize. Assume that frame and be present in it:

Picked this up from reading other posts here. Whenever I wanted something from her, I would look her in the eyes and state, not ask.

Assuming this frame led me to be confident and assertive, possibly coming off as dominant as well.

Shit tests can be overcome if you are in this frame of mind as well. I did not hesitate in doing what first came to mind, and was just having fun with this encounter.

  1. Just have fun, seriously.

I was not on the prowl during lunch hour to look for girls, I was going to have lunch anyway. Anything extra is a bonus, which was what happened here.

  1. Don't be outcome dependent.

Even after calling her to meet me at my place, I did not let the meeting define my night in case she did not show up, I was working on my laptop from home anyway.

Always do something productive while waiting so if she flakes, at least you got something done.

  1. Texting, calling and kino.

Daygame kino does not need to be excessive, instead, use words to escalate and create tension.

I chose to call her to set up the date as there is some form of intimacy in receiving a call, and also she can't stall her reply, so there is polarizing as well.

And of course. Text only for logistics.

P.S This is my second field report, still uncertain how to properly write one, any criticism or holes in the FR that you would like to point out would be great. I tried to keep it succinct.
