  • shallow and labile affectivity,
  • self-dramatization and theatricality,
  • exaggerated expression of emotions,
  • suggestibility,
  • egocentricity,
  • self-indulgence,
  • lack of consideration for others,
  • easily hurt feelings, and
  • continuous seeking for appreciation, excitement and attention.

Epidemiology

  • Appears primarily in women with above average physical attractiveness

  • HPD is the only DSM-IV personality disorder explicitly tied to physical appearance

  • About 6% of women have HPD

Culmination

  • HPD generally culminates around age 30-35

  • Complete convalescence is possible

  • Frequently culminates with pseduo-convalescence in which HPD characteristics vanish, but the individual develops clinical depression, dependency/attachment disorders, and/or anorexia nervosa.

Red Pill Analysis

Characteristics: Describes the behavior of the vast majority of young women: shallowness, self-indulgence, constant need for validation, and lacking consideration for others.

Epidemiology: An attractive woman will be validated by the endless army of betas regardless of whether her behavior is good or bad....consequently she has no consideration for others because her self-indulgence is unlikely to ever have consequences.

Culmination: aka The Wall. At this age a women's appearance alone is not enough for them to be valued. Some women will convalesce; they will realize that validation now requires them to treat others like human beings and act accordingly. Many become clinically depressed as they struggle with the reality that their life will no longer be based entirely on self-indulgence. Meanwhile others become anorexic or bulimic under the false belief that losing weight will allow them to continue a life of unadulterated self-indulgence.

tldr: Clinical psychology shows that most attractive young women are selfish brats have HPD and that The Wall exists.
