How do we apply the lessons learned from Machiavelli's The Prince to real life?

Machiavelli's Prince implores one to act strategically in pursuit of one's goals without the restraint of morality. Covertly operate outside of what is considered morally "right" so that you do not open yourself up to a level of rebuke that would stop you from reaching your goals. Manipulation is a means to achieve your goals and acting under the moral standard will only hinder your pursuit of what you want.

How do you translate that to modern examples in the context of sexual strategy? Well for one, how do you feel about keeping the truth from a woman, or even lying to her when necessary, to get into her pants? Many men would say it is wrong to lie to another human being, especially using dishonesty to get in to someone's pants. Others would say that withholding the truth is tantamount to betraying themselves; real men are ok about being themselves, and lying means you aren't embracing the truth about yourself. Whether lying is right or wrong the fact of the matter is that if your goal for the night is to get laid, saying something that isn't the truth but makes you more attractive to a girl will give you a better chance of getting laid. In fact, you would fail a lot of shit-tests and miss out on a lot of action if telling the truth was something you would not budge on due to your moral compass. Sure you could confidently tell the truth in situations when it will lower your SMV, lower your chances of getting the girl, but still get laid through confident game, but certainly with less frequency.

Machiavelli would say be a fox when you need to be a fox and be a lion when you need to be a lion; lie when its best but refrain from lying when it isn't necessary.

a Prince “should not deviate from what is good, if that is possible, but he should know how to do evil, if that is necessary. - if your goal is to get laid a lot, its necessary to avoid the truth.

Primarily think about yourself and your own happiness first and foremost. Be willing to do whatever it takes to attain that happiness, if it makes other people uncomfortable then fuck them. Learn to recognize where deception is useful and have no qualms about deceiving people to attain your goals or happiness.

The Prince at it's core is a guide to leadership. It's applicable to alot of things because in most relationships and groups there is a leader and follower(s) as well as romantic relationships.

I highly recommend it, it's a quick and easy read but packed with wisdom. To see it's principals at act just look at any major CEO and how they got there. Maybe a little on the extreme side but Steve Jobs was a total Machiavellian leader,he wasn't always nice or "good" but he ALWAYS did what was in the company's best interests even if it meant cutting people out or stabbing their backs and he almost always centralized and maintained control(on a side note if you watch the movie Jobs you can see his pitfalls in his career where he let power be taken away from him).

side note. I got the impression that he actually wrote the prince as a sort of satire. telling the recipient what he wanted to hear, in a way.

The fox and the lion. There is a time for subtlety, thought, and small changes and there is a time for bravado and force. Using either set when the other should be employed will lead to disaster.
