Stop fucking commenting in linked threads.

[–]1Ill_mumble_that13 points14 points15 points 13 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Seriously, for fucks sakes it's a NP link for a reason.

If you fuckers have such a need to bitch and/or help the OP then just private message him instead of commenting. That's what I do.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 13 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

i was subbed to /r/relationship_advice before this post, so why wouldnt i comment?

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'll back up pachan here. I've seen him regularly on the relationship subs.

[–]1Ill_mumble_that3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Subbed doesn't mean much. I'm subbed to all of those but that doesn't mean I'm part of that subreddit.

Anyhow your regular participation in /r/relationship_advice is marginal at best, but that still makes you one of the few redpill guys commenting in there that has any connection to it.

The point of NP is, don't comment if you found the submission from a NP link. If you found the thread naturally from browsing that subreddit, from your customized homepage feed, or from any other link that doesn't have NP attached then go for it.

yes it does

Are these rules published somewhere, or are you just making shit up as you go along? 'Cause it sure feels like the latter.

Well that link doesn't help your argument because that which is not prohibited is permitted! Post away, dudes!

"I assume if you're a member you can comment and vote, but that's up to the admins of reddit- who honestly haven't given moderators any clear rules whatsoever. We're basically just bumping around in the dark waiting for them to get angry and go on a banning rampage again. "

[–]Modredpillschool[M] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The rules are for your protection, not ours. There have been multiple shadow bans recently.

[–]Endorsed Contributor303030303030301 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it didn't help yours either

They are members so they vote/comment, I'm not thus I'm not. New rule needed? If you are a member of /r/xxxxxxxxx and /r/theredpill you can't vote on /r/xxxxxxxxx? Ridiculous.

If we continue getting a lot of cross-sub drama I am just going to go nuclear and ban people left and right. Now, before that happens I would like to explain to you all a little something. We are not well liked on Reddit. There are other subreddits that are also not well liked on Reddit. Guess what happens when enough people don't like you and it makes its way to the administrators? They start coming up with bullshit reasons to ban you. Guess which bullshit reason they will use to ban/shadowban our users? Inter-subreddit drama. SRS can get away with it all day because they have member(s) on the admin staff, but I promise you TRP does not. So, kindly stop commenting in the original thread. We both know you aren't going to talk any sense into these people, and the thread in TRP is what is designed for the discussion in the first place. There's a reason the rule was created, and that is to protect all of us from ourselves.

maybe they are members..

But what if I'm a member of that community?

I assume if you're a member you can comment and vote, but that's up to the admins of reddit- who honestly haven't given moderators any clear rules whatsoever. We're basically just bumping around in the dark waiting for them to get angry and go on a banning rampage again.

[–]TRP Vanguardnicethingyoucanthave-2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

why?

Reddit is a discussion board. It's also threaded, so if I roll into a new community and start talking about something they don't want to talk about, they can click the little minus sign next to my post and *poof* it all goes away.

They can also downvote so that other people don't even see my post.

You're thinking about things as though you were in the real world. In the real world, a group of outsiders might be loud and they might shout other people down. On the internet, none of that is possible.

So why exactly is it a bad thing to post in linked threads? Who does it harm?

[–]5 Endorsed ContributorStayinghereforreal5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because people who don't think like him/her suddenly show up, and start saying things he/she doesn't agree with, and then feelings occur!

And that is not supposed to happen, this whole ideas not agreed with thing, not unless it is done at a classroom, where the teacher is there prove how wrong those malcontents are, using sneering sarcasm and presumed superiority! /fistintopalm

[–]nonservator0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Reddit mods need to quit playing games and turn off the ability for people to vote on or post in threads/forums they aren't subscribed to.

[–]1Ill_mumble_that0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Talk to the admins, the mods can't do much mate.

[–]nonservator0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a hard decision for me to make because it seems I love both... My gut tells me that I really want to be with John but ending it with Chad and not having him in my life anymore will be really hard for me because we are best friends aswell as being in a relationship.

Bullshit. She isn't in love with Chad, he is just her fallback plan B. She wants John but she doesn't want to give up her relationship "life raft (chad)" until she is sure that John is willing to commit to her.

[–]ShadO0Walker-3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Her vagina is doing the thinking for her.

[–]kukul 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For some reason there isn't really a part of me that feels remorse or guilt about this and I'm not sure why because I know it's a horrible thing for me to do.

I know y'all hurt fuckers hate her now, but that part actually made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That magical moment when one, male or female, takes a good look at the chains of social expectations and sees how weak they are, it's beautiful.

[–]TehGinjaNinja3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This isn't hypergamy. Hypergamy would be demonstrated if she was considering leaving 'Chad' for 'John', because John was now making more money than Chad. Or because Chad had gotten fat, while John had hit the gym and gotten buff.

This post actually illustrates three things.

  • Branch swinging
  • Hamsterism
  • Polyandry

The branch swinging is pretty obvious. She's reaching for the John branch before she's let go of the Chad branch.

The hamsterism is pretty obvious too, as she tries to justify her actions and intentions by explaining how she's always been in love with John, and still loves Chad as a best friend.

Polyandry technically refers to a woman having more than one husband, but I'm using it here to describe the phenomena of women cultivating male "orbiters". If men want sex while women want relationships, then a woman's circle of male "friends" constitutes the female equivalent of a harem.

This girl was in a relationship with Chad while he was around, but she kept John in her orbit using the pull of sexual tension:

I'm completely and utterly smitten by my friend (let's call him John) who I have always had a physical attraction for and pretty much loved the whole time even through my relationship with Chad... we're very aware there's even more sexual tension than before

Chad was number 1 in her harem, while John was number 2. Now Chad is physically distant and can no longer satisfy her sexual needs, so she is demoting him and raising John to the number 1 position. But, and this is key, she still clearly wants to keep Chad in her orbit, i.e. in the harem:

I'm now starting to realise that I do really want to be with John but I do still love Chad.. sort of as a best friend/brother kind of relationship though.

None of this is conscious on her part, hence the rampant hamsterism.

[–]1Ill_mumble_that0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you that women cultivate harems of "male-friend orbiters." And that men are interested in sexual harems.

What are your thoughts on women though regarding their number of concurrent sexual partners? Are women interested in having multiple sexual relationships with separate alpha males?

[–]TehGinjaNinja1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Some women probably are, but not most. It's hard to say for certain what current conditions are, since most of the research data I can find dates back to the early 90s.

At that time the median number of life time (not concurrent) sexual partners for sexually active young women is approximately 3. Though, the number of 21 year old women who had 6 or more lifetime partners was over 30%.

The impression you may get from some on this sub-reddit, that most women are out slutting it up with alpha males on a regular basis, is most likely false. It seems to be the result of a perception bias.

Studies have shown that the more attractive a women believes herself to be, the more likely she is to cheat. Therefore it stands to reason that the women whom men are most likely to focus their attention on, are going to be the most promiscuous.

A lot of guys see "sluts" everywhere, because that's what they are looking for.

Studies on sexuality and attraction indicate that most women don't have concurrent partners, however every human being seems to have an instinct to cheat.

Women seem most inclined to cheat with during the most fertile time of their menstrual cycle. This indicates an imperative to get impregnated with the best genes she can find; something for which she would need only one alpha, and would only want the best for.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not sure. It seems like as far as concurrent partners go, it tends to be harder on women unless it's alpha fucks/beta bucks, because in that situation she's trying to secure genes from the alpha (and preferably better security and support from him), but knows that sex with the beta will guarantee his resources.

I don't consider myself some sort of super alpha stud but by now I've been in a few alpha fucks, beta bucks situations as the relative alpha (by a longshot, really). It's pretty obvious that when the girl thinks in terms of sex, she's thinking about the alpha. I wouldn't be surprised that if while fucking the beta she's either fantasizing or merely going through the motions to keep the guy from complete insecurity.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

We all know how this plays out.

She doesn't break up with Chad, but one night slips and falls on John's cock. Starts banging him with no condom on the regular.

To assuage her guilt she starts some bullshit fight with Chad about the "strain" of long distance, then breaks up with him.

Enthusiastically pursues a relationship with John, who does not reciprocate and instead starts pursuing her prettier friend.

Heartbroken, she calls Chad back and says she misses him and doesn't want to lose him.

Chad, who's been feeling sorry for himself, takes back the cheating whore and looks forward to the next time he gets to taste John's cock on her lips.

The end. Cool story, I know.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Not sure why you got the downvotes. That's one of the common occurrences. Girl with inflated SMV thinks because she gets used for sex by someone with an actually higher SMV, and then she can't secure him, so she goes for the fall back plan.

Anyone with self-respect kicks that girl to the curb when she comes back, or does a pump and dump. She needs another drop in her SMV from you because you grew a pair (I would hope).

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't pay any mind. The Professor has acquired quite the following of haters who downvote every pearl of knowledge I drop.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True. It just sticks out like a sore thumb when a post that contributes analysis to an observably common sexual mating strategy is hit with downvotes.
