So for a couple of weeks, I ran a channel dedicated to politics on YouTube where I would just post interesting news snippets discussing Trump, healthcare, etc. (it got taken down for copyright).

I saw a lot of very interesting discussion in the comments, and a lot of the videos ended up getting watched a lot. One day I decided to check the inside analytics of who exactly was watching.

"81% of your viewers are male"

I was a little taken aback by this, as I've always been fairly liberal and assumed that it would probably be around 50/50 male female.

People choose whatever they want to watch on YouTube, there is zero "oppression" that hinders women from watching videos on politics, technology, science etc.

I think the truth is that women just care more about watching lifestyle, beauty, and makeup videos than they care about science, math, or politics. No amount of female empowerment campaigns can fix that.
