TL;DR: Trying to be alpha is inherently β
In other words:
'Just be yourself and pls don't make it harder for us women to discern the natural alpha from the beta guy acting alpha, lest we mistakenly invite inferior cock into our pearly gates'
[–]jimmle3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Hahaha look I can't speak for other women, I don't get along with many of them, perhaps that is what they think. And perhaps what I said was ambiguous, what I meant was these days there are fewer and fewer people who just do what they like, say what they like, dress how they like, drive what they like.
In fact I would argue the reverse, if genuine alphas who are bright as a button all start conforming to what they believe is α but is actually β (at least in my eyes), There won't be any alphas left at all.
This isn't really relevant to me I'm basically a nun but it was just a musing!

You want, and most women, want a guy who is naturally alpha... who has it all effortlessly, is confident, attractive, masculine, powerful etc.
Now there are some men that may fall into this category, but they are few and far between.
The idea of a guy who has not always been that way, or naturally developed that way, is distasteful. He's trying too hard... it's fake... not genuine... there's an element that is deceptive about it.
This is the reason the redpill works when hidden. But if a guy tells a girl "i used to be skinny, unmasculine and wasnt confident. Then I developed and worked on developing alpha traits and experience seducing and attracting girls and now slay like its my profession."
She's going to find that disingenuous, and may think "But who is he really? Is this just a facade..."
Women want the finished product AND want to think that the finished product was always that way, and this is exemplified in your post.
[–]MrBellsprout1236 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Women don't like to know about your former Beta self for the same reason we don't want to know about their shitty slutty behavior before we met them.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hey! I'm a nun! I have one slutty story and it's hilarious, I've even been told it's endearing, albeit to my friends, not potential suitors.
I think I was just really unclear, what I meant was I don't believe what people consider β is β. I believe it's the striving to be a certain way that is the alpha behaviour. But I've since been corrected numerous times and the 'certain way' seems just to be a philosophy preached by a few. Most simply strive to be the best version of themself, something with which I don't, and couldn't, have an issue.
[–]plutorising923 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
All true. Reminds me of Bill Burr's joke about women and the finish line.
[–]jimmle1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I realise I came across like that that's not what I meant (at least not consciously). All I meant is that what I find attractive is doing whatever it is that interests you with no apology.
I find it almost impossible to be impressed by someone driving a Lamborghini because well they're not driving it for the good of their health, they are driving it to be seen. Bait.
I don't know why I included the thing about the engineer that was probably misleading, it's probably because in my experience they dress casually and have fewer trappings, just utilitarian all around
[–]throw174532 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This place is in some ways a learned masculinity forum. Wayward souls find it, and if they can put in the effort and focus needed, will come out the other end confident, self actualized, masculine and live more productive lives.
The last bit is attractive to women, a man who seems authentically alpha, confident, owns himself, his surroundings... pursues his interests and goals with determination and without apology. I could go on ad infinitum, but you get the point, authentic alpha man = attractive.
A guy forcing it, trying too hard = inauthentic = not attractive. This is the crux of your point.
However - im reminded of the Burns quote "Sincerity - if you can fake that, you've got it made."
Yeah I think that's what I was trying to get at. I totally understand about TRP helping to focus/drive etc., I come here and leave feeling like I should definitely do something, or at the very least consider it! Thank you for rifling through the ineloquence!
[–]TyrannyVengeance2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Of course you are a nun, all nuns hang around the manosphere, and only have one female friend. The purity is strong with this one.
I'm so flattered that you think I'm pure (hope it's a compliment)!

Our first task is to Kill the Beta.
The idea that you come here as a young man in a Blue Pill mythology mindset and simply "add" the Alpha "feelz" to your vibe is incorrect.
You have repeated the error we see with many Newbies here recently.
It's a common mistake.
Our primary task is destructive and our focus is on destroying the Blue Pill myths.
Alpha isn't anything the Newbies should be concerned with.
To truly be Alpha you need Power and Dark Triad like knowledge which is way too advanced for entry level betas.
Better to shoot for Chad Thundercock first... or even MGTOW.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Then maybe a new message needs to be put out because... a lot of guys are skipping steps, filling their minds trying to determine what actions are alpha and beta.
Although i also acknowledge, its damn near impossible to break down a persons mind to be rebuilt with just anonymous words so...
[–]NeoreactionSafe3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
a lot of guys are skipping steps
What !?
Are you saying impulsive children seeking immediate gratification want to avoid the real work of improvement and try to find a shortcut?
That's so unexpected... aren't children naturally well behaved?
Oh wait... does that mean women behave like children too?
Hmmm... so if a beta acts like a child (like a woman) and is unable to focus and be disciplined then do we call them beta and a pussy?
Um... yeah... I guess we do.
[–]dRePe_Thill2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
"a lot of guys are skipping steps, filling their minds trying to determine what actions are alpha and beta."
Its unbelievable, Rollo explains his thoughts on "Alpha" in the FIRST 20-25 pages of TRM, maybe we should have an exam and when you pass it then you can post on the community.
[–]NeoreactionSafe2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That's not a bad idea... but you would need some technical work to make it possible. If the test was made so that it was always the same we would instantly see "cheat sheets" floating around in order to pass it.
What would be required is a random question generator so that the questions aren't the same set and are in a different order each time.
It's not part of Reddit, so unless they initiated the technology we wouldn't have the resources to do it.
But it's an idea that could be raised with Reddit.
They might actually work with us to improve their own service.
[–]dRePe_Thill1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Agreed, it would need to be dynamic to mitigate that issue but at a higher level, one would have to ask themselves why they are here at TRP. They'll get out of this community what they put into it, if they want to cheat to post some bs many will see right through it.
Otherwise a test would only enhance the communities knowledge, provide more value to members reading the posts and retain the dedicated.
[–]NeoreactionSafe0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It will have to involve Reddit to be useful.
This type of exam would make a sub be perceieved as "elitist" because it wouldn't allow "just anyone" (troll or otherwise) to gain entry.
Reddit would have to decide to add the feature to their system... that costs developer $$$.
Any new feature needs to be written, then debugged, then field tested... it's a long process depending on complexity.
[–]Koryphae_1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I personally think that even with cheat sheets going around, it would still greatly benefit, because people would actually have to search for it. At least make them do the work before posting.
[–]NeoreactionSafe1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This could be a new feature within Reddit.
It would be better to have a real "Exam Program" which could be used for any sub within Reddit which wants to filter people who enter.
A generic template for entry admission.
[–]Koryphae_1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree with wholeheartedly, even if the exam's anwers could be google'd easily, there should be something which prevents anyone posting.
[–]RedShock10 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What Rollo explains is his own views on "Alpha" and may not be every RedPill's definition. There's not only one path to the end.
[–]dRePe_Thill0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I disagree, but I'm open to hear these other paths
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

pls don't hate me
No one hates you, toots. This is just more mainstream bullshit meant to keep the pill out of otherwise eager hands. We love women; we just understand what they are.
Anyway, you are about the only woman I have ever encountered that wrote like they were doing a mathematical proof. Can you shove your right hand down your pants and make sure there isn't a tree trunk dangling there?
I rarely if ever meet a male who makes me feel like a pathetic damsel in distress
Er... Captain Save-a-Ho is not Chad Thundercock. You are mixing the streams here. If someone makes you feel like that, it's because they want to save you. That is not an alpha trait. It's a provider trait.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Thanks I appreciate. I'm guilty of rolling my eyes and saying 'oh yeah here we go' whenever I can tell a woman is typing, perhaps that's something I've projected onto you guys!
I'm female but my father wanted a son (he never stated it or acted disappointed but the bi-weekly go karting so I could become a Formula 1 driver was a giveaway) so that perhaps explains the butch writing style! I should also apologise about the Greek letters my laptop has shortcuts (Applied Maths), I worried people might think I went to the trouble of copying and pasting!
RE: the provider trait, you're exactly right, I think I was still talking about my father when I said that (I have the reverse of daddy issues, as you can see) and I didn't phrase it properly I guess I mean someone who makes me acutely aware of my inadequacies such that I'm in awe of them. It happens with my comp sci friends when I need some code, I am just suddenly acutely aware of basic I am. Men should have that effect I think.
Also captain save a ho is great, but consider the word 'bint'. Cracking word.

Still not convinced you are female. Ever had genetics testing? Maybe an XXY?
I started getting medicated quite heavily for depression
The most feminine, submissive little pig pain slut I ever put in my corral was a drag racer on the weekends. Did it with her father. I still get a boner just thinking about her. She's married and 3000 miles away, but I'll always love her in a certain way. I doubt her husband has any idea about me. Anyway, her father did it with her because it is all he knew but still wanted to share something with his daughter.
Applied Maths
Ahhh.. autistic then maybe?
acutely aware of my inadequacies
Jesus christ, maybe you are a woman. Women always prattle on about their insecurity issues. No, lady, you aren't inadequate. You just want the comfort of sitting under the tree of a powerful man so you can focus on female imperatives (like keep an eye out for an even better tree). All you need to do is provide sex and take care of the nest and all is well.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm so flattered that you find it hard to accept I'm female. I have exclusively male friends but one so that will likely contribute. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I have had genetics testing (that must make me seem so gross and butch, I never get mistaken for male in real life promise) and am XX. I grew to 6'0" at age 12 and the doctor thought that was odd and I had a barrage of tests. I'm only 6'1" now thank god, it was touch and go gigantism there for a while.
When you quoted me about the go-karting it says something about medication? Am confused.
I hope you meet your drag racer again one day. There's something extremely attractive about someone who can drive. Not surprised about the slutty submissive thing, it's never the ones you'd think. Source: used to rise horses, the things you hear in those circles.
RE: the tree, thank you that's comforting. I'm pretty driven I think but it's so nice to know that I can just pack it all in one day become an incubator if I so wish and that's a legitimate course of action. It's actually laughable that people think men have it better.

exclusively male friends
Jupiter rising.
Fuck me running. Sorry, that was a paste for another post.
slutty submissive thing, it's never the ones you'd think
aka all women. It's in their genes and I love them for it. Some are just tougher to crack than others. Which brings me to what I call "crazy horse chicks." They are the toughest to bridal, and are usually batshit insane while doing it, but sexually quite rewarding. My primary residence is surrounded by mini-ranches where ex-urban women live out their childhood fantasies of having giant piles of muscle heaving and galloping between their legs. I see these sloots all the time.
become an incubator
Being an incubator is easy. Being a mother is hard.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Haha thanks that cleared it up.
Haha hard to bridle, that's not something I've ever heard of a crazy horse girl before, I'm glad to hear they've become better at resisting. I wish you the best of luck with your horse women endeavours.
If it's not too late, learn how to handle a horse, always impressive when people can do that. Will bring bints in droves.
RE INCUBATOR Truer word never spoken, had one perfect parent, the other less than selfless.. wouldn't procreate unless I felt I could be the former. That's one thing I really envy, that men can be 50 and be like 'k it's kid time'. I imagine I'll still be selfless and disorganised when I'm 30.
[–]Senior Endorsed Contributormax_peenor1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
learn how to handle a horse
The irony. I have ridden quite a bit, particularly when I was younger. You see, my elder sister IS a crazy horse chick.
I had my oldest child when the mother was 21. I had my youngest child when the mother was 39. I wouldn't recommend going much older than 39, but there is plenty of time. Go ride the carousel for a while; if we have learned anything here, it's that there are plenty of guys that will take you after.
Thanks for the vote of confidence and the kind words! An extra decade is v welcome! I hope life's carousel is good to you and yours!

You're just trying to redefine concepts that already have widely accepted definitions in our circle.
alpha = the traits that men have that make women want to fuck them. See https://therationalmale.com/2011/10/20/alpha/
beta = the traits that men have that make women want to exploit them for their resources. See https://therationalmale.com/2011/09/02/beta-game/
You have close to zero knowledge of red pill philosophy and seek to redefine our terms? What if I were to go on the philosophy subreddit and, without reading Seneca, decide that I believe Stoicism should now mean "door handles" and everyone should probably stop thinking what they think Stoicism means and instead adopt my definition?
By your weird definition of alpha as "engineer that don't give shit about others", Tesla was alpha.
By ours, the fact that he died a virgin, he was beta as fuck. His OCD, lack of Frame, lack of social manners, all-around weirdness, putting women on a pedestal, all confirm this guy did not fit at all the standard red pill definition of alpha
[–]chillledoutnumber1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Tesla is one of the posterboys for MGTOW, as far as I know he never put women on a pedestal
Fair, I'm sorry for my derp. I should have been far more clear, my qualm wasn't with TRP as in the subreddit but rather with those who populate it, and I now see I was simply being taken in by a vocal minority.
I shouldn't have circumscribed alpha within such limits, all I meant with the engineer thing was practical / has skills / actually does something.
RE: Tesla and Perelman I picked them not because of their genius or because of the former's asexuality but because each has turned down several monetary prizes, awards, doesn't seem preoccupied with status symbols but again that's only relevant to the vocal minority and not the now obvious majority.
One thing I will say for tesla is I don't believe he had any problem attracting women i seem to recall watching something about him having bitches galore and just swatting them away like a hero. If he's not interested he's not interested.
[–]Endorsed ContributorAuvergnat2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't know much about Tesla but read he ignored women, not because he was asexual, but because he was too shy to talk to them because he was putting them on a huge pedestal. So I imagined he was some sort of super-genius-mildly-autistic MGTOW type. But if I'm wrong and it is true that he was attracting girls (and NOT for his money) then he would have some alpha traits indeed. I guess fame at least.
What you experience is the classic fallacy of TRP newbies who believe alpha=good and beta=bad and then proceed to attache to the word "alpha" all the positive masculine traits you can think of (for example, being a good father, being virtuous, being courageous, etc.)
But the original way we use alpha and beta is simply in describing women's dual sexual strategy. As in alpha = what women are sexually attracted to. Since nobody will deny that being attractive to the opposite sex is a good thing, newbies came to think that alpha = good and proceeded to redefine alpha as anything they find good. But what if I tell you that being a badass ex-convict is attractive to women? Dark triad traits are not "good" but typically attractive. These are (unfortunately I guess) alpha traits. That's why Rollo in his seminal post (which I linked earlier) used a complete idiot to receive the title of "alpha buddha". He's not a good man, but he's an attractive one.
The whole point of the alpha/beta dichotomy was to explain women's dual sexual strategy. As in, why girls are attracted to the "jerk" but end up marrying the "nice guy" (AF;BB). If we don't stick with our definitions, we'll soon have armies of TRPers who think of themselves as "nice" and therefore "good" and therefore "alpha", while that "jerk" over there is an "asshole" therefore "bad" therefore "beta". They'll have it completely wrong & back to square one in their blue pill delusion.
Could well have been for his money, still think it's pretty awesome he wasn't interested, 'down, bint!'. Common in savants I think to be asexual.
Yeah fair perhaps I assumed that too many of the qualities that I find off-putting are shared by the wider female population. I suppose if it works, it works.
Tesla is a poor example RE: women, I used him and Perelman because they each turned down large sums of money and prizes because they didn't want to be dancing monkeys.
Though brain-wise he's not even in the same realm, it's hard not to think of Elon Musk when one mentions Tesla. I used to adore him from afar, it seemed like the money / glory was just a by-product of innovation and not his motivation...and then he started becoming a celebrity and being a bit more basic and that shattered the illusion. I believe he's even stooped so low as to start seeing Amber Heard (could be wrong I believe I saw that on TRP). After that I reconsidered what I once read that he said to his wife 'I am the alpha in this relationship'. When I first read it I was like 'lies, lies, lies, clearly apocryphal.' And now I don't know. If it's true it's easily the most embarrassing and pathetic thing I've ever heard of a human being uttering, at least in the context of Men.
Oh i forgot the classic, it's like Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, one schmoozes, the other's the humble brains. Give me Wozniak, whom I consider to be the alpha male (as in in an evolutionary sense, not your sexual prowess sense), any day of the week.
[–]abdada6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I'll agree because I've been in these circles online since 1980 and the only guys who get it and win aren't concerned with anything but their charisma and confidence and leadership character.
The rest of the shit people want is lipstick on a pig since they have zero ability to cold approach a cute girl at Starbucks or CVS.
Money, clothing, height, style, etc is lipstick on a pig if you can't say hi to any woman you feel like saying hi to.
[–]jimmle1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Ah okay I'm glad you agree, perhaps I was just stating the obvious but I've seen a multitude of basic bitch posts recently and mistook it for the consensus. I'm glad men in the classical sense exist, it was looking bleak for a moment!
[–]abdada2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Remember you're on Reddit and who the male market is here.
A lot of guys raised by video games and TV instead of dads. Guys who just see dad crushed in a cubicle and mom using them as an ATM.
Reddit's version of TRP specifically states this forum is for sexual strategy. It's a rule. I disagree with that rule but abide it here.
Other TRP communities have different end goals. I always found sex to be retardedly easy even for poor ugly dudes, so TRP for me means something totally different.
Don't assume TRP is strictly what you read on a single forum based on a community of people who socialize on an anonymous social network where anyone can create fifteen free accounts in 5 minutes.
Fair point. I probably didn't link it back to sexual prowess but what I should have tried to get at is your end goal is to be swatting away bitches I feel like not giving a fuck is a good way to go.
[–]abdada2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
DGAF is useful if a guy actually has a life to give a fuck about.
If his life is Netflix and Nintendo and beer, he's giving a fuck about making other men wealthy and powerful.
I give a lot of fucks about my future and don't brag about it or show it off. I just do it.
If a girlfriend takes issue that I am leaving for a week to Mexico to surf a short season, she isn't a girlfriend tomorrow. But that doesn't mean IDGAF about her, it means she isn't invested in what I'm invested in, which puts the relationship failure in my hands strictly.
Men have to blame themselves for their messes. Giving a fuck about themselves is a great start to a beautiful future.
IDGAF what some pink haired legbeard thinks, of course.
Yeah yeah absolutely give a fuck about you and what you're interested in be that tree surgery or astrophysics just not with what other people believe to be success / achievement, that's all I meant. I'm not sure how anyone could have inferred that from what I said though. Note to self: re-read.
[–]bestCallEver4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well those superficial wannabe alpha traits you think this sub is about are really just a small part of it. The underlying message to me has always been "make your life full and interesting as fuck, value yourself, and keep your body in shape"... Not everyone is meant to be "alpha", but that is how you maximize your potential.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That may well be the case and I'm sorry if I reduced a wider philosophy to something so trivial. I used to Reddit many moons ago, I left and came back to a very different vibe, perhaps I'm being overly harsh and nostalgic!
[–]bestCallEver3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nah, you're right that this sub is overrun by superficial bs a lot of the time. I feel bad for the new guys coming here and thinking that's what it's all about, they are missing out on the value. Guess those who really want it will dig for all the gold that does exist here too.

Great post. Alpha is beyond the ego. Many will try to emulate the behavior, but the personality is still wrapped up in the image of the self. They are truly scared of losing their status in the eyes of others and so become a slave to their own image and lash out when challenged. The ego is very fragile, and its very sad to see the facade crumble down so easily when control is lost. It is not a position of strength. This is why its important to unbind.
[–]pibcola0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
hey papes. how to you keep your ego in check? I've been working on it and its TOUGH!
[–]papersheepdog1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
One meditation is to observe your own behaviors and notice when you are overthinking in your mind what others think of you. Just be yourself and pay attention to your behavior. The ego is a program running in the mind, its very predictable and to let it lead you is to give away your power to this pretend mask game played with others. The key is to pay attention to everything, get out of your mind, become aware of the possibilities, and interact with a total freedom. Have a joke at your own expense, it sends a very strong signal when your ego encounters potential trauma, and you are beyond giving a shit. There is no reason to get adrenaline, or get embarrased, or otherwise depress yourself based on what happened to your ego, which is like a control panel with buttons for others to press. Its not you. With complete awareness we act differently, not a slave to the ego. Kinda rambling but I tried
[–]TheYoungOwl_2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't actively try to be alpha, I simply let myself be.
But I think it's important to introspect on whether your actions could be perceived as alpha or beta.
Edit: my childhood was also rough, so that may be why I'm always alert with other people

In a few post later I tried to explain What an alpha was. It's not the money, the body or the status. It's the mindset. It's the way one behaves and expects others to comply..
[–]fetchyminx2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Most guys think all women chase after wealth, status and body which can be true in many cases but in the end you're just setting the same basic standards for every guy on here and attracting the wrong crowd of women.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
You need to edit that statement a bit (Sorry for the pedantics) The alpha expects certain behaviour of those within his protection

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
To a degree, yes
But a true leader doesn't let his ego get in the way constantly. He's aware of the value of his most trusted's opinions, ideas etc when making a decision
Sorry for being a dickhead, but talking in absolutes can really discredit arguments/ideologies/philosophies
[–]Ohboohoolittlegirl0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Ofcourse :D I think an Alpha needs some social skills. Else he's just being a dick and no-one defers to a dick..
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
See here's the thing about social skills that seem to split the group.
Whats better?
The silent stoic who's few words penetrate deeply
Or
The charismatic chatterbox who everybody loves
[–]Ohboohoolittlegirl1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don't think one or the other is necessarily more Alhpa.. In both cases, the social dynamic is dominated by this person. This person probably also dictates what's happening and where this group is heading. As long as others comply into his frame and follow, that is the dominant alpha.. I don't believe there is behavior that makes one either alpha or not. It's the complete set of skills, frame and attitude that make the alpha what he is. Not that one aspect of his personality. It's the influence and dominance in social dynamics that determine this status. In my frame and experience, how talkative a person is, does not indicate this persons social ranking. Its how those around them respond and adapt to this person.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Beyond pointing out how some within the community seem to act in authoritative ways when dealing with newbies regarding social skills... I can't argue your personal opinion. Its logically sound, well done

Ah okay what you said that's what I believe, perhaps I had been listening to the betas
"Because half-a-dozen grasshoppers under a fern make the field ring with their importunate chink, whilst thousands of great cattle, reposed beneath the shadow of the British oak, chew the cud and are silent, pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field; that of course they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little shrivelled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome insects of the hour."
[–]Ohboohoolittlegirl1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well... Naturally this sub attracts beta's that are looking to improve their social status. Being an alpha means being confident, strong in your opinion etc. The basic steps here (Lifting, game, PUA etc) are all tools to bring that mindset to the table. I see the Redpill theory and especially the Alpha mindset as something that will result (in long term) from those steps. I do agree that a lot of people here confuse those aspects of getting to that mindset as a feature of alpha, eventhough its not. We all get confidence from strength, we all learn from social interactions.. Not everyone gets there, but the frame that the redpill teaches is one of self-development that will ALWAYS be beneficial to those who try it out..
Yeah that's fair, I think I just got confused between the end result and the tools to get there. X
Sorry about the 'x' was writing a text at the same time!!

I do beg your pardon but since when does this sub promote the idea that alpha means driving a car and wearing suits? I´ve been around for a while and I hardly ever saw threads discussing cars and suits.
Trying to pass yourself off as an alpha is one thing. Putting yourself on a life-long journey to be the best you can be and give value to everyone around you instead of spending your days playing videogames and masturbating has no shred of beta about it.
Do you think your dad was born with the ability to fix cars, or that Christofer Hitchens debated his views like a champion when he was 11? Everyone starts from somewhere, Demosthenes the ancient Greek orator (Δημοσθένης αφού σου αρέσει η ελληνική γραφή) put stones in his mouth to overcome a severe speech impediment he had and went to become one of the most famous and succesful orators in antiquity. He wasn´t born it, he became it.

I totally agree, I failed to mention anywhere that hard work is paramount in my view of an alpha / man.
Perhaps there are fewer posts than I'd imagined about x car or x suit but I've returned after a hiatus and the growth of posts/comments like that has been exponential. I feel there are two separate philosophies and I had failed to acknowledge how minor the one I was discussing was.

Dude she's just trying to point out that you lose your individual self when you try too hard to act and do what other people on here define as "alpha" material
Thanks that was what I was trying to say, was less than clear to be fair!

The bottom line is you cannot understand. You are a woman, you do not have the ability to self reflect like men do.
Men are better than you. All men think they're better than you, and theirs no amount of feminist brainwashing will change that. Now, theirs two ways you can take that.
A stupid girl would say "no that's not true", let her arm pit hair grow, march around and cry and bitch like what we saw a week ago, get all upset, and decide to live in a fantasy world where men are women are equal. And try to be a man.
But a smart girl, which I assume you are, would ask herself "Men think they're better than me, now how can I use this to my advantage." (which may or may not be true, but for the most part is)
By being submissive and feminine, you are actually gaining power. Men will want to do things for you, be there for you, to date you. THIS is where a woman's power comes from.
If I wanted to, I could run up to you and kill you while you're walking down the street. Just think about that for a second. I'm 6'2" and a good athlete. And I could do it just because I felt like it, before anyone could find you or save you, I could do that, and there is absolutely nothing you could do about it, nothing.
Sure theirs lots of practical ways that this isn't true, but you catch my drift, if we both had pepper spray and got into a fight, I would win, but if you just had pepper spray i MIGHT lose.
The uncomfortable truth is this, men own you. The only reason women can vote is because men let you vote, the only reason you can own property is because men let you own property, the only reason you can speak is because men let you speak, the only reason you can breathe is because men let you breathe, the only reason they're alive is because men let you be alive. And the only way you can be stop me is by getting OTHER men to stop me. Like your father, or w/e men you can control.
Now fortunately for you, I don't want to do any of this, I want you to vote, I want you to own property, I want you to speak, I want you to be alive. But, I could, I could take away all of this if I wanted to, and don't forget it.
This is the goal of feminism, its to not get men to realize their power over women. Its goal is to keep the blind fold on men. To make sure men don't realize that they hold all the cards in their hands.
A woman's power does not come from herself like a mans, it comes from the men you can control. And the more feminine you are the more power you will have over men. Which in return, gives you power.
Pls don't report me for harassment and death threats :)
[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Okay so just because she has ONE opinion she isn't submissive or feminine by default? She clearly stated in first paragraph that she abohrs feminism.
[–]The_alpha_monk1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So you are just talking about how thinking in regards to being beta is a polarity response and this makes your first response beta. This convinces your subconscious functioning to exude "I can be moved, I can be convinced, I really don't know myself." If we subtract the "love" conditioning you received in your informative years, (qualities you like, things you play over and over in your head to inspire feeling or "fake confirmation" , blah blah blah) then you are just saying you want someone whose first action is devoid of self questioning. (And will utterly crush your fake opposition and have you in bubble) but most importantly what you don't realize is that the subconscious is trying to streamline all practiced functions, so when what is practiced makes it into muscle memory then you have the vibe you are talking about. Action faster than conscious thought. Just gotta get your 10000 hours in. It's just a step process like any thing else.

The fruit bowl thing is good. What else does he says that makes you feel like a damsel in distress?

It seems like her dad rocks amused mastery. Like a boss.
Oh god there are loads. When I begin a sentence with "I think..." he says "How many times do I have to tell you: don't think; you'll get into trouble."
[–]DeeDeeDa 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Tell me more!
Do you have a husband or boyfriend? How does he calls you that give you the tingles?
My sister told me she loves being called little wifey. I would love to find a few ways to call my girlfriend and remind her her place.
God I can't think, now, as they come to me I'll put them down. Lots about 'headless chicken'.
When he tells me to do something and I'm unenthused and I'm like 'yeah, k', he says 'what was that?' And I say 'yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir' and then he laughs at me and I laugh but I definitely do it. You know the more I write the more I realise how well he set the situation up!
Dad calls me 'pet', 'dear' or 'dearie' with a sort of patronising grin but it's not mean, it's just funny.
That's also because he can't do names though so he'll call me his sister's name, his woman's name, my mother's name before I'm like 'insert name'.
When I was a teenager I had three female friends (girls' school), he'd drive us various places and early on he resolved that he'd never be able to remember all three names, nor could he tell the girls apart anyway, so he went with one of the names 'Molly' (also his mother's name) and just called them all 'Molly' and I really think he was delighted with himself that he remembered just that one name, like it was a special effort he'd made.
Re names to put in place, my friends call me binty, bint, though I'm not sure your girlfriend will go for that! I reckon 'dear' and 'dearie'.
Have boyfriend but he's the woman in the relationship, when he's being precious I call him petal.

This post is typical of women: complains about stuff, points out things that feel "yucky," can go on and on about it ... yet offers absolutely no solution to the things she complains about.
The only thing useful in your entire post was a quote uttered by a man - "You may as well be looking into a fruit bowl for all that it means to you."
That brilliant line sums it all up. And that line also explains why the sidebar material makes no sense to you. Leave the detailed mechanics to us men.
Totally fair, there was a lot of rambling, no real beginning, middle or end. It was supposed to be a reply to a comment so perhaps it would have made more sense in that context and I should certainly have edited it such that it operated better as a stand alone.
It's a great line, he has many. Someone on here asked for another. His most uttered is probably in response to when I say
"I think.."
Then he says
"Hey! What did I tell you about thinking? Don't think, you'll just get into trouble."
"Yes Dad, sorry Dad."
Consider the detailed mechanics left, :)
[–]blackedoutfast1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
this is normal for a female. you want a natural alpha because what you really want is his genetic material. you want your sons to be alphas who can impregnate lots of women and thereby spread your contribution of genetic material far and wide.
you have a instinctive dislike for alpha mimickry because an man who had to learn to act like an alpha wasn't born that way. he doesn't have those alpha traits hard coded in his DNA. and if you get knocked up by this alpha mimic, your kids will end up with his lame beta genetic material. your kids will either be loser beta males who get cuckholded or they will have to learn how to fake being alpha to get laid.
That makes a lot of sense! I hadn't considered the evolutionary implications of a surreptitious β.

This isn't even really a question or a discussion it's just a statement of what I believe to be fact.
What's the point of stating your beliefs if you don't want a discussion? It's like you coming here saying "Santa Claus is real, end of story".
Drives x car wears x suit socialises in x place to be seen. Is that not a bit bait?
Nobody has ever said that. Alpha is what Alpha does, meaning an Alpha can do anything considered "beta" and still be Alpha.
Like for me an α male is probs an engineer / extremely practical / can do what I can't do. I often think of my father when he's fixing my car and I'm looking into the engine and asking Qs and he says 'you may as well be looking into a fruit bowl for all that it means to you'. I rarely if ever meet a male who makes me feel like a pathetic damsel in distress but I feel like that's what a man or an α is.
Summarised as "I need Alpha because I can't wipe my ***". Most men can do what you can't do: write a decent post, yet you don't fall head over heels for the people here who do so, why? Because it doesn't fit your narrative of damsel in distress that needs the knight in shining armour to save the day. An Alpha will protect you if he needs to, but first of all a true Alpha will empower the people around him. Your father at some point should have said "I'm going to teach you how you can fix the car yourself so you're going to be independent and not bother me with your crap"
A person who just commands respect and to whom even the most ardent feminists / snowflakes / betas wouldn't open their mouths because without having to say a word the α lets them know their place.
With this I agree.
Money is great and all insofar as it alleviates stress and of course for engineers can be a measure of the utility of an innovation.
First, nobody said money = Alpha. Second, money equals freedom and we can truly grow as people only when we are free of the constraints of biology (food and shelter), when we are free of worry and when we actually have time to dedicate to self actualisation (see Maslow's hierarchy of needs)
I always saw the αs as the Nikola Teslas or the Grigori Perelmans of the world.
Wow, I didn't know my Mensa card was the ticket to becoming the most sought after man in the universe. Oh wait a minute, it's not! People like Tesla might be geniuses, but they're still social outcast: case in point, he died a virgin.
Surely to be α requires being at the top of a pack and therefore not giving a flying fuck what the pack is doing / what the pack thinks. I just think there is nothing so attractive in a male as not giving a fuck, at least to me and my lone female friend.
It's such a basic concept in TRP that it even has its own acronym: IDGAF. Before writing something like this, read the sidebar.
What does that even mean? It's like saying "trying to be rich is inherently poor - just be rich". You can't magically switch from beta to Alpha, it's a process and most betas will be in situations where they won't be able to act Alpha but will try and fail. Should they just stop trying and accept that they are doomed to a life of misery?
TL;DR: Come back when you have some life experience.
If you have to try this hard and need instructions to turn into an "alpha" then you're not really an alpha. The world is filled with betas and alphas including both men and women. So, trying to change every "beta" guy into an "alpha" with the same basic standards listed here seems unnatural and silly.
[–]Shiva-Lingam0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you have to try this hard and need instructions to turn into an "alpha" then you're not really an alpha.
You're right, nobody should try to better themselves. Let's all go back to cavemen times where nobody needed instructions for anything. Or better yet, let's go back to being amoebas so your stupidity won't be so apparent.
So, trying to change every "beta" guy into an "alpha" with the same basic standards listed here seems unnatural and silly.
There's no way of changing every beta into an alpha as the determining factor is already there. The main difference between Alphas and betas is that betas accept things as they are, while Alphas have a burning desire to change their situation, to achieve. For the people that have the desire and the force of will to change themselves, they need some guidance and information to counter the bullshit and indoctrination that society and the media have forced on them. With that information they will chisel away what is not "them" and at the same time add traits they believe will make them a better version of themselves.
This reply is what I was expecting and I'll be totally honest it was rambly and I should have edited.
Re the not wanting a discussion thing I mean given this is just a rambly post I understand that it's likely not worthy of a response.
(This must infuriate you but I don't know how to do the thing where you reply to specific chunks of your text so apologies in advance for the lack of structure)
A few people have mentioned that I have merely skimmed the surface and reduced the philosophy to what the audible minority have been preaching, I apologise for that, I am glad it's about a state of mind and not about trappings.
Fair point on my father, I regret using the phrase damsel in distress I couldn't quite phrase what I was going for I think I just meant someone whose very company instructs me as to my place. He has tried his best to teach me how to fix the car, I do help him when he's doing it and he explains what he's doing and why. I'm just not built like him in that respect, as I'm coming in the drive he hears the engine for like 3 seconds and then says 'x is broken' 'how can you tell?' 'Because I'm not deaf dear.' I'm in awe of that. But I suppose it's not just mechanics it could be an expert in any field provided it's not something artsy.
Also fair point on the overkill with Grigori Perelman the reason I brought them up isn't their genius per se but each has turned down huge monetary prizes / Field's Medals owing to being averse to the spot light / unable to fathom how we structure society to reward prowess with money and a dinner. Again that's something i see one on side of my family, very accomplished people but no trappings and you never hear what they accomplish from them directly, you'll find it out from a family friend or something. They would be embarrassed by the attention / acclaim. Other side of family totally opposite new car every year, this wine, that suit, wedding with 100s, normal overt basic bitch shite.
Again forgive me for not doing my research more on the mindset. I failed to look before I jumped.
What I meant by trying to be α is inherently β, what I meant is feigning something that isn't natural to you for the benefit of those around you is inherently basic behaviour / pack mentality.
Sorry for being dense and for the lack of clarity.
[–]Shiva-Lingam1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's something you can see in many replies posts: too many people try to teach before they have fully learned even the basic concepts, that's why you get a lot of low quality posts that get many likes because newbies can relate to that type of thinking. Also, part of the issue is that we are here trying to explain rationally and with words (which are inherently imperfect) a behaviour that is mostly instinctual and that is opposite to societal indoctrination. That's bound to cause misunderstandings if you don't dig deep enough.
Add to that that most posts usually fall into some fallacy of sort. Usually either of overgeneralization (eg. once a woman somewhere did this, so it must mean all women everywhere do it) or of causality (eg. "I said this to a woman once and she loved it, so that must mean that's the right thing to say" - well, she might have been just drunk, or liked you so much you could have said "I'm Hitler incarnate and I will kill you" and obtained the same result, etc).

What is more telling is, on a near anonymous platform, you felt the need to include your gender.
This is like the MGTOW Fangirls, women will do anything for attention.
"Drives x car wears x suit socialises in x place to be seen"
Just like many new RP'ers you are misunderstanding. Cars and wealth are not an aim to help you pull, they are an aid to better your self, a goal for you to aim for, for you only.
Alpha is not about material items, it's a state of mind, a way of being.
Read the side bar.
Pro tip, If you are above a 6 , use Social medias \ dating websites & Apps, heck even visit your nearest bar and you will get all the low frequency energy validation "hits \ fix's" you need.
Alternatively you could look to why you feel the need for constant validation \ attention, and grow as a person.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Haha golden. I think I probably included my gender because I am heterosexual and I wanted it to be made clear that some of the tactics I hear people pontificating about are unlikely to work. It was originally a reply to someone's comment advising about the opposite sex. There is simply nothing as appealing as someone who doesn't give a flying fuck about how he is perceived / whether or not you want him.
I always found the people who wanted to 'work in the city' to be the most basic and the computer / physics guys to to be the funniest / most appealing. Again large generalisation but true en masse in my experience.
I think you are absolutely right about me misunderstanding the overall philosophy; I should have been more clear, my qualm was with the very newbie RPers of whom you speak.
I am not currently seeking a male but will bear your various pro tips in mind when and if the situation arises and I fail to find one. RE the attention thing, there's probably some truth in that, I have recently moved and I miss my boys.
[–]The_alpha_monk2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
To give yourself credit for deciding what works and doesn't is an interesting thing. Even though your true man goals seem like you want an environment where you don't have to think. Don't you think introspection is a little much? (Since you seem to be in scrutiny on limited facts mode) Considering how your perfect scenario seems to be designed.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Is that directed at me I'm confused, sorry!
[–]The_alpha_monk1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yeah. I wondered how you felt comfortable deciding what works and doesn't work? Since all your input has confirmed a lot of red pill theory. Like you are an internalized attention oriented hypergamous plate spinner. So maybe you describe yourself in a disassociated state? But when it comes down to it, you don't see your moves. So it's difficult for me to give you credit for the objective introspection that would allow you to correctly interpret data.
[–]jimmle0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Ah okay I see what you mean, like how would I know if feigning α works because I wouldn't recognise if it hit me in the face? Because I'm unaware of how attention seeking I am so I'm just a basic bitch anyway.
I see your point, I was literally just penning what I feel which is that it's very obvious to me when someone is trying to be something they're not, and that is what is unattractive. It doesn't matter what you're pretending to be, it's the pretence that's offputting. Perhaps it's not obvious, perhaps most are pretending to be something other than themselves and I just can't tell. I'm not sure if we can solve that without an elaborate experiment.
[–]The_alpha_monk2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I find that people just pretend that their interpretations of events are real and not just their best assumption. I did like your point. I don't believe in alpha as a second thought. But I know the ways to change a personality through behavior modification so I never give af.
[–]The_alpha_monk1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Also the "elaborate test" is just shit testing. You doit
u/2Bait4Me did you edit your comment to be nicer to me? Or am I going mad? How do you know what number you are on the scale? Is there a service/website? I just asked my friend and he said -5.....
[–]2Bait4Me1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes I edited, as on second reading it was unnecessarily Critical.
The HB or Hot babe scale is largely subjective, but it's normally based upon physical appearance (due to men's attraction being largely visual based), so face elements that are included; hair, age and body composition(weight, ass and tits).
Recently I have moved away from the HB scale, and just moved toward a more binary option of attractive or not.
Haha it's okay I thought it was funny! I was going to ask the internet what my number was to put this to bed, I believe there is something called rinse me or something of that ilk. Was too reluctant to take a selfie so I asked my boyfriend and he said 0 and then readjusted to 5 so you were right, I've learned something about my subconscious!
[–]fetchyminx0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
"Alpha is not about material items". mocks physical appearance, suggests her to the nearest bar to fix her validation issues kthen.
[–]2Bait4Me1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
Your post makes no sense.
Material things, I.E cars, houses, clothes, etc is not extended to genetics of birth I.E attractiveness.
If you re-read my post, What i'm saying is there are easier was for her to get attention than to post on here. The fact that she feels the need to get attention from here would imply that she cant get attention else where (you dont see IG girls posting in here).
Also I dont suggest she goes to a bar to fix herself, the opposite actually.
I'm using the term as a drug user needs his "Fix", but in this case a "fix" of validation \ attention.
[–]fetchyminx1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Ok I kind of did misread that but she's just stating her opinions and what do you mean ig girls?
I've just re-read this and I've just realised how many times you have leapt to my defence. I'm most grateful. I don't mind the grilling, it would be entirely a different colour pill if the response wasn't administered unadulterated but I do appreciate the support just the same, I rather think I've done a poor job of getting what I was trying to say out!
I am a little confused about the IG thing as well, I had no idea instagrammimg your day was desirable behaviour but you learn something new every day. Back to social media with me, I suppose??
