They sell "rape porn" at the grocery store.
Granted, it's in book form (preferred by women) and not visual form (preferred by men). But it's what it is.

I assume Cameron's first target for enforcement is at the National Gallery?

I welcome your cultured, irony-appreciating upvotes.

Only one more step until regular porn is criminalized.

"Mr Cameron is targeting websites which show videos and images of rape – whether they claim they are ‘simulated’ or not."
Brilliant. Now how will they tell the difference between an actual rape and a simulated rape, which is in fact, NOT a rape, because is fantasy role-play?
Just another pretext to lock up poor people.
And of course, it is never illegal for the government officials who prosecute these cases to possess, and therefore look at the pornography they lock others away for looking at.

The idea is that they aren't even going to bother with the distinction between simulated and real rape scenes. It's all illegal.

Yep. I think lots of sex scenarios include an element of coercion; the male tutor who blackmails the student, or the female student who blackmails the male tutor, often over something stupid, like studying for a quiz. I'd wager they wouldn't be concerned about the latter though.

I agree. With the widely expanded definition of rape these people prefer, you can twist a large percentage of porn into the category of 'rape porn.' That's one part of why this is so troubling.

Maybe the feminists will start shrieking if they lock up James Deen for his "sensitive," "empathetic," rape porn. You know, the kind where he smacks the woman around, then ties her up, spits on her, calls her a dirty whore, than assaults all of her orifices. So empowering.

People should not be in possession of 'rape porn' it's akin to child porn.

No, child porn involves people who can not consent, i.e. children.
Rape porn involves adult actors who know exactly what they are doing and are doing it voluntarily.
Rape porn != Video/pictures of actual rape.
Edit: (TRP'ers ignore the following.) Just in case SRS puts this on /r/ShitTRPsays, I am not into rape porn. Not my bag, but that doesn't mean people who are into it should go to prison. Anywhere between 32-62% of women (depending on how the question was phrased) admitted to having a rape fantasy. Should they go to prison if they like/look at rape porn? I'll give your hampsters some time to work on that. ( http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/all-about-sex/201001/womens-rape-fantasies-how-common-what-do-they-mean )

gotcha. i assumed it was videotaped rape that was then viewed. Or maybe something like casting couch that is a little of a grey area.
If it is just acting that is made to look like rape, then I agree with you.

No worries bro, easy mistake to make.
[–]alt303130 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It is my understanding that casting couch is fake. There is no grey area because the actors are in on it like all other reality porn. I'd suggest you do some research.
