I'm new to this sub so forgive me if this is a bit off topic but I thought this would be a good place to share my experience and thoughts from today. This afternoon I was out for a walk around the neighborhood during halftime of the football game. As I was walking past one of my neighbors I heard the sounds of a young woman, all too familiar, crying and complaining loudly to her boyfriend/ husband... w/e, coming from the window of their apartment. And then his responses loud enough to hear across the street. Couldn't make out the words but I didn't really need or want to. I knew this was one of the typical kind of bullshit arguments you have to put up with when living with someone in a relationship. Another fight! I'm a 48 y/o man. Been divorced once and had several relationships after they were over I realized I was better off without. Like most guys I imagine I got tired of listening to the woman I was with constantly complaining about everything! Nothing I do is right, and what a piece of shit I am. Pointless arguments about nothing. It was the same for my dad when I was growing up. I don't know how he put up with it until I was in the same position. But not any more! Been listening to a lot of Tom Leykis lately. For those of you guys who do not know who this is, look him up he gives amazing good advice for guys. Anyway, I now follow his teachings. I will never get married again. And I avoid serious realtionships with women. No girlfriends and no moving in, period! Don't get me wrong I still date and want to get laid, but that is all. That poor guy across the street spending this beautiful Sunday afternoon listening to his stupid, bitch girlfriend crying and sceaming about nothing I'm sure. Hate to say it but it made me feel wonderfully free and happy to never again have to put up with that shit again, ever! Literally made me feel like Tim Robbins at the end of Shawshank Redemption. After I got back to my apartment turned on the football game to find the 49ers winning. Opened a beer and put my feet up on the coffee table. Whats that sound? Peace and quiet! FREEDOM! Yeah, single life is good!
