I get hit on by gay guys all the time. It just means you're an attractive dude. They don't know you're not gay until they start talking to you, hence, you get their attention. I have a gay friend, and he told all his mutual friends that he thinks I'm good-looking. Just take it as a complement

Been noticing the same thing, if you can bring out the feminine timid side of a girl she wants your babies. As you continue to increase your SMV men will respect your more and both sexes will stare a lot, even straight men.

Most guys are somewhat invisible. They're muted in appearance, conversation and behavior. Part of raising your SMV is having the confidence to stand out without trying to stand out.
It's not about seeking attention. It's more about not giving a fuck about anyone's approval or disapproval. You become louder, more animated, more intense and more connected to yourself and those around you. It's like the warrior inside has finally bust out of his fucking prison.
When I let this side of me out to play, I get plenty of stares.

Don't expect this to change. Unless women are in a "safe zone" (read: club, party, anywhere where other women are doing it too) where they can be sexual without fears of being shamed or judged, they will very rarely make overt comments like this.

Are you in an urban area with a lot of gay guys? It's possible the attention you're getting is a cross-section of the attention that's locally available.
Also: are you working out? I mean, obviously so? It used to be that mostly only gay guys did that, but I think in the last 5-10 years that has changed, as straight guys have had to compete harder for women. But if you're getting too muscly, you may be unintentionally signalling teh gay.
