I've made a startling discovery over the past week about the innate differences between male/female styles of fighting. The experiment is simple. You find a girl with no experience in the martial arts. You ask her to form a proper fist and to pretend to punch someone in the face. You repeat the same experiment with men. I've done this for 25 men and 23 women that I know. No girl I've interviewed has ever been able to form a proper fist. Every man I've interviewed knows instinctively how to make a fist. About half the girls I interviewed tried doing a karate chop with a closed fist when demonstrating how they would punch out an opponent. All the men took some sort of swing against their imaginary opponent. Now almost all of the men weren't punching properly, but at least they all knew how to make a fist.

Now I'm getting less scientific. If you've ever seen girls strike, you'll notice that they always resort to slapping each other with an open palm. When you see men strike, they always try to punch each other. You could teach a girl to punch properly, and in a fight, she would instinctively switch back to slapping her opponent. Just as how you don't see female deer trying to charge/headbutt their opponents, you don't see women punching their attackers.
