I've been toying with a different approach to online dating this last week (it wasn't successful, yield was too low for the work). As a result I decided to analyze one of the most prolific "alpha males" on Instagram and his posts starting from his very first photo. The data was gleaned from photos 2011-2013.

I went through 152 posts before I started recognizing the trend... The categories I was looking for were: Self (when he is included) (x93), Shirtless (x36), Girls (just naked women) (x24), Sexual (implying sex) (x3), Activities (doing something) (x61), Toys (showing his rich toys boats, watches) (x42), Guns (shooting or displayed) (x12), Someone else taking photo (x73), humorous (x11), and combined totals. Additionally, there's crossover where one photo may have multiple tags.

So here's the trend...

  1. he never takes his own photos. Someone else is almost always taking the photos (46%).
  2. most of his posts include himself (60%) from afar... someone else almost always takes the photos... 13% were selfies. (recent photos between 2014-2016 have ZERO selfies.... he learned and adapted). He is often shirtless (20%) showing a well maintained body.
  3. the rest of his photos are a rotation of cool things: toys, activities, guns, and women. (once again, someone else is taking the photos)

Takeaway: Your social media photos should be taken by someone else while you rotate between toys, activities, guns, and women.

So there you have it gentlemen. The internet has changed since then. Humanity has not.

PS - it looks like recent photos (2014-2016) are more heavily skewed towards women and sexual innuendo mixed into his other "toy, activities, and guns" photos. Basically, he is bringing naked women to do stuff with him now. But I haven't logged it... yet...
