Lifting doesn't compensate for height, confidence does.
Lift to improve your health and your SMV. If you’re "compensating" and have a chip on your shoulder, you're going to come off as having "little big man" syndrome.
A buddy of mine is 5'5". If you had asked me before I knew that, I'd have said he was 5'9". Why? Because he's a totally chill guy with a RP worldview.
Stop worrying abt height. Control the things you can control, and go from there.

This is a great summary of what you should really worry about.
A good friend once told me that "lifting does not compensate for a lack of confidence, it only masks it"
I can't tell you how many gym bros I know who are completely and hopelessly beta.

You care and obsess about your height because you're afraid of rejection for that. You care about it. You give a fuck. I.E. you're being a bitch and it's time to not give a fuck.

As a shorty you need to maximize the advantage of being able to develop a killer physique at a lot less weight than taller men. It's expensive for them to do this because they have to consume an abundance of calories.
EVERY short man needs to be in the gym if they want to maximize their SMV
height is an advantage we do not have but it is not the end all be all. As long as you build a rugged frame and broad shoulders girls will fawn over you. Don't take steroids, atleast not until you are an expert in the dualistic crafts of health & fitness. You don't want to rush a masterpiece and be a cookie cutter bodybuilder like everyone else.
I am not against steroids I may take them in my 30's but I feel they are abused and used in such heavy doses compared to golden age bodybuilders.

I've read in one of your threads that you are pretty muscular and also short. Do you feel that since you've become muscular women are physically attracted to you, i.e. giving you the fuck me eyes?
[–]TheYoungOwl_0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes but you also have to consider the fact that I've always had a sharp defined face even in middle school and a natural air of nonchalance, I was never short (lol) of female attention.
I say this because I don't want to give false hope. Just like height, muscularity is not the end all be all. There are several factors that come into play that determine your attractiveness. Play to your strengths.
I will say that as I've become more muscular women are licking their lips more and more often. Do your squats, eat your veggies.

Okay thanks good to hear. I thought I was completely screwed being bald and short (avg height is 6 foot here), but maybe there is some hope for me by lifting.

If you're that short, it's gonna come off as overcompensating. The shorter you are, the more it's true.

indeed. my biggest fear as a not short person who works out is: fighting a shorter stout as fuk beast.

Being short repulses women. Yeah, a ripped short guy is going to be better off than a fat short guy or even a fat tall guy, but will always lose to a ripped tall guy.
You can't lift and frame your way out of being a manlet.
[–]1edwardhwhite0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You can get confident and lifting helps
[–]HorrorAndHatred0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Right, but it won't make you taller. You'll still lose out to tall, confident lifters.
I don't think RP is about becoming the best man possible, just about becoming the best you possible. If you're cursed with manlet genetics, the best you possible is still a manlet.
[–]1edwardhwhite0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Its only one part of smv and there are tall betas. Height does not mean shit if you have a very high smv, especially with good genetics
[–]HorrorAndHatred0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think we're arguing the same thing from different angles.
Obviously tall betas exist. So do rich betas and muscular betas.
It's nonsense to say that height is a part of SMV, then turn around and dismiss it. If you have two men who are equal in all ways, but one is 5'4 and the other is 6'4, the 6'4 one will have a higher SMV.
Being short is a marker of bad genetics. That's why women are repulsed by short men. They don't want their offspring to inherit the manlet's curse. They want strong offspring capable of better competing for the future. Being short projects weakness.

Remember you're going to look bigger with less work as a shorter guy. We often call those "Manlet gains". Enjoy them.
