Jesus. What a cuck. My parents divorced in the mid 90's and my dad would never dream of giving my mom anything. Last time they visited us last year for my son's birthday, my mom stayed with me and my dad got a hotel. The three of us went out drinking and then they both bounced together, my dad smashed (of course they have both been remarried for close to two decades) and then he showed up at our place at 8 in the morning pounding on the door about an hour after my mom stumbled in. "Your mother left her keys at my hotel room and I don't want her to think she has an excuse to come back there unless I invite her again." I'm 40, but my old man is still pushing RP knowledge on me and my son. I shudder about how these kids who were BPed from birth are gonna grow up.

IME proper protocol is you make sure the kids do something nice for mom on the holidays/birthday etc. but never send her anything from you to her. That is weak as fuck and has nothing to do with healthy co-parenting. Fucking disgusting and creepy.

It can be easy to get mad at women for being manipulative users but when you have losers out there like this who want and need something to make them feel like they're being a " good guy" why the fuck wouldn't you ride that train for as long as you can ? If she reciprocated, I honestly wouldn't see a problem with a small gift (e.g. book, tie, etc.) on her/his birthday, mostly because they have kid, if only to show them that their parents are still on good terms and will support them. It is possible to be amicable after a divorce. If they didn't have children it would be a different story.

However, because she probably isn't and he is still buying her things, it's one of the ultimate acts of lowering yourself below a woman.

This teaches his sons nothing except that it's okay to be subservient to a woman and be unequal.

Unfortunately this guy is a bit delusional in his excuse. I can completely understand behaving in a civil manner to prevent creating a "toxic" environment for young children. I think we can all agree with this to some level.

How ever the extra effort that this man puts in is not only unhealthy for his children but incredibly damaging to his own psyche. Firstly he is teaching his kids to be unnecessarily tolerant and accepting of women's behavior be it positive or negative. This is one of the underlining problems that have been addressed in the book The War Against Boys. Only in this case it's the actual father that is undermining his child's development.

It's not a secret that women find this behavior to be a major turn off, but it doesn't mean they won't take the resources. The guy is showing his sons how to be orbiters and nothing ore. It's a shame.
