I've been married 30 years, currently separated on the way to divorce.

BUT...

While you will see all sorts of people here counseling against civil marriage (and the reasons why), you will also see men coming here talking about where to find trustworthy women for marriage.

LTRs and marriage are up to the individual - TRP is about giving you the proper information to choose the best options for yourself.

There are several successful TRP men who maintain a good marriage life. It's possible but requires quite a bit of work and your still taking a risk that she'll branch swing when your focused on other things. Many believe it's not worth the effort / risk, some do.

in my 40's...beta'd my first marriage, with the expected result...but was totally amicable split. we both just walked away. I'm sure if it was any semblance of the nightmare scenarios I've seen and read about, it would have turned me off of marriage forever.

I did eventually remarry, but it's a RP union through and through. I know the risks, I understand the importance of continuously gaming my wife and I'll never stop being the Captain of my ship.

I can say that if I was younger, I don't think I'd get married at all. the entitlement amongst the 30 and under females today is just too extreme.
