As kind-of an experiment (sometimes I feel it's good to push against the grain) I posted on here last night that my spiritual beliefs improve my social confidence. That's because as a result of seeing life as more perpetual and important than our short time on Earth, I no longer feel nihilistic. With that stress and depression gone, because I stand for something and see the universe in a specific way... it's like my performance goes up with literally everything else I do.

Anyway, that's the gist of what I posted. I took it down because it turned into a fight. Some people were really agreeing with my points, but one of you guys posted a 10-part thesis called "Why Poster is a Retard". I tried to scroll down the page and it just kept going...and going... kind of like certain psycho ex girlfriend correspondences I've dealt with.

Sure, it's easy to throw stones against people with differing beliefs. But I'm posting that for a reason here. I've been involved with game / pickup / seduction communities since 2007, I also run a site about social dynamics that gets a few hundred hits daily and so I get plenty of e-mails from guys trying to improve themselves.

During this time period I've seen weird life philosophies. It started with Mystery's "survival and replication" thing he used to preach. He was trying to build an entire life philosophy around Darwinian principles.

If your purpose in life, in that extreme example, is basically "fucking women and spreading your seed", I promise you that won't make you into a kinder, loving person.

While only total freaks i knew subscribed to that, there can be other toxic life philosophies that WILL hurt you in life.

Some people I meet tend to be extreme materialists. They think that there is no free-will because our brains pre-determine everything we do (I believe it's called eliminative materialism, and Stephen Hawking is a proponent).

If that works for you great, but because I used to think this way myself...I can tell you what it created for me: depression and a grim view of the universe and human interaction.

Nowadays, science and the study of epigenetics is strongly pointing to the notion that this idea is complete bunk. Epigenetics is the study of external forces that affect genetic code, such as: food we eat, environmental factors, and even our own thoughts.

This means our consciousness has way more control and free-will to determine how we think and live our lives than we've ever realized.

My big point is get your philosophy in check. If you're REPULSED by the idea of "spirituality", as clearly some on here are, I'd take some introspective time to consider "why". There's a huge echo chamber online, especially on Reddit, that makes talking about certain topics not very popular.

Spirituality is really about your higher calling in life or your position / role in the universe. If you're very depressed, it can be hard thinking along those lines because you believe your life is shit. It may also result in a person lashing out against such ideas.

I know i'm pushing against the grain, but sometimes I think it's more important to speak about ideas, even if they're unpopular.
