Understanding the difference between guilt and shame will help out. Shame is when other people try to make you feel bad for being different than them. Most often because they are afraid of being the same as you. Guilt is when you feel bad for doing something you know is wrong. As long as you don't feel guilty (and why would you, just for enjoying plush women) then shame is irrelevant. Fuck other people opinions.

I think the main case against this is, why please a woman that has no discipline, when you yourself strove towards discipline to achieve your goals (be it women, or status, or money).
I personally, while not attracted to bigger woman, can see how if I worked on myself and strove to be fit, would want my woman to be fit as well, and would also look down/shame on other men if they preferred bigger women.
Do I condone this behavior? No. Do I understand it? To some degree.

I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately actually.
In the past I have always gravitated towards "alternative" types of girls. Hippie girls. Shy bookish nerd girls. Gothy girls. Artsy girls. Girls with unusual features….that type of thing..
Sure, I think the kind of woman that "society" tells us to like is attractive, but I've never even considered actually pursuing a girl like that. I wonder if that has just simply been because I'd have a much better chance with an "alternative" type lady. I'm inclined to think that my preferences in women are my ACTUAL preferences, but it's an interesting thought to examine.

HB scale only really represents the popular view.
The HB scale is a nerdy, autistic way of trying to sound systematic and objective about something that can never be either.
There's only one scale, and it's binary: would fuck / would not fuck, and even that depends on many factors of circumstance.
And for that matter, 'chubby' and 'fat' are also subjective terms.
While there are women whom we would all call fat, and women whom we would all call thin, there's a whole spectrum in the middle where one guy's 'fat' is another guy's 'chubby', and yet another guy's 'just fucking right'.

A vast majority of men prefer women that are fit because it signals at a primitive level (our lizard brain) that these women have good genes, would create good children, and basically, we're hardwired to look for a partner like that. Then there's the social component, where women are judged on how they look, men are judged for who they can acquire and have sex with. Fat women are, by and large, not as valued because of the negative connotations that are (mostly) correctly placed on them--unhealthy, self control, etc.
While I don't care what you go for, I'm still not sure what the point of this is. Are you justifying what you prefer? Are you asking us not to criticize the fatties? Are you making a statement that "you're good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like you"?
