Summary

The glue of male bonding is action.

Body

This is a small example from this weekend. My fathers wife is 10 years younger than him, and her brother another 10 years younger, so he and I are peers. His sons are now in their late teens. I've known them a long time, and we've talked at Thanksgiving dinners, but there was no real connection.

One of his sons, Sean, with two of his friends, helped me move Dad yesterday. Out of the four of us, I was the second strongest.....17 y/o corn fed Wyoming boys who lift can be damned strong. We kept up a solid pace, moving heavy stuff fast, and I was throwing truths, Red Pilled and otherwise, at them the whole time.

Once we fed them pizza and let them off the hook, they were all pretty clear in how the chore was actually a lot of fun.....And I saw that Sean saw me, rather than an abstraction, for the first time in his life. But we all leaned really hard into our collective task, which was far more effective in understanding one another than drinking coffee and talking about our feelings and dreams.

Conclusion

I know this is a small example, from an obscure corner of this vast country. Still, I think it was illustrative due to its simplicity, and it's not the only illustration I have. Most of my buddies are from either judo or climbing, exactly because there are things you cannot learn about a man unless he is placed in a stressful situation.

To seek true male friendship is to seek challenging situations. I'm sure many military vets could tell us a lot about it. Physical is best, grappling or hiking or climbing or turning wrenches or tough mudders or whatever, but intellectual still counts, coding or gaming competitions and shit like that (you better be lifting if you're a coder or gamer).

Epilogue

It is said, "Women don't care about the struggle, they stand around at the finish line waiting to fuck the winners." It's easy to say display high value, but we display high value to other men and women ride herd on those judgements....which is why my most recent comment on another thread holds that female nature is easy to understand, but the religious/social context is challenging.

The connection between male bonds, dominance hierarchies and the displaying of high value might be worth exploring if this post is well taken. Comments on these connections here would be appreciated and rolled into the next post. .
