A little while ago, there was a story on This American Life (got your back) that featured a story on a woman fighting for women's rights in Afghanistan. The rundown: several decades ago, the area was ahead of the US in terms of women's lib. There was a turning point maybe sometime just before the invasion, where this lifestyle was flipped on it's head and it turned into the typical place you see today in the news. Those of you that are familiar with these sequence of events only please, what are your thoughts of these evolutions in culture?
