consider this.

that 100k she's making is going to disappear shortly after she gets married (to you, or her backup guy - who's that, i wonder? any girl who rode the cc in college also has a stable of beta orbiters she keeps in contact with) and starts with the baby making. you should know that she's probably expecting you to plug that financial hole and then some, within the next 5-10 years. if you can't, that's going to cause a serious problem with reality vs. her expectations. 250k vs. 500k may sound marginal to a poor person but it's the difference between a whole lot of fancy "image" shit like private schools and nannies and trips to europe/asia and giving to the right bullshit charitable organizations run by other rich people to keep their useless families occupied.

if you don't know who her beta orbiters are, or claim she doesn't have any, that's a problem. what are your other blind spots?

and, if she's talking about marriage, she's talking about kids. women of her social class basically do not have kids out of wedlock because it's a lower class marker. asking for marriage is a proxy for asking for children. she expects you to know this implicitly, and it seems like you're totally oblivious since you "don't want" kids - lol what does that even mean bro? you're considering marriage, aren't you? to her, that means you want kids.

so the question is, do you want to be the 40 year old guy who busts his ass in a job that pays 500k+, give her children and a nice home making lifestyle, at the risk of all the downsides of marriage? do you love her that much? or is she that useful to you ...

you sound like a guy who works in either finance or law - would marrying her have a positive affect on your career? is her dad a prominent figure in your industry or your personal belief system (religion, social group, etc.)? that would be the only reason i'd take the plunge.

i own my own business and basically make as much money as you, and i literally can't even imagine loving a woman so much that i would risk any fucking part of it. HOWEVER, if i worked in an industry where being married (and to the right person) is important, i would consider it only because it would have a long term positive impact in my career, which divorce would just bring back to a 'net zero' if you know what i mean.

If you can live without her, If I were you I'd let her go.

You'll never be someone she wants yout to be, i.e. a father. Or rather, you don't want to be, do you?

You're going to resent her for making you do things you don't want, for not letting you do things you want. You're going to be unhappy.

If you truly care about her, let her go.

You're a few years ahead of me but from my point of view I would suggest discussing a prenup with her. It sounds like neither of you believe in fairy tale relationships so you don't have much to lose if you go this route.

I would say it comes down to the life you want to build. If you want to be a patriarch and lead a family, you need to find the best starting material you can and plan to mold it for the next couple of decades. She seems like good material from a short post on reddit. With that kind of money you could fuck a lot if that's what you are looking for, but your post suggests that's not the life you are in to. What do you want? Basically the same girl with a little better genetics?
