This post is just a reminder: when you're reading all of these reddit posts, reading books, going out, watching videos, don't just assume you'll passively retain what you watch, write down what you feel is important.
I can't tell you how many things i've read, books, posts, forum posts, only to go back 6 months later and and totally forget what was important about them. It was as though i'd wasted my time reading them. Sure it felt good and for a short while I was probably cognizant of what I had learned, but after time passed, i'd lost the bulk of what I wanted to retain. The solution? Writing things down.
Make a text document, get a journal, whatever works best for you write, and write down all of those things that resonate with you in your own words. If you don't take note of it in your own words, you'll forget it, you won't learn, and more importantly you'll have wasted your time.
This applies not only to theory, but also to interactions and nights out. Successes, blowouts, doesn't matter, write down what happened, what you did well, what you didn't do well, what you will do next time to improve.
To anyone who is not doing so already, (new, old, doesnt matter) the simple adjustment of note taking, which takes a few minutes at most, will help you retain what you learn and expedite your growth significantly. Firsthand experience, vids, posts, books, doesn't matter, if you feel like you're learning something, write it down.
