I have been browsing the sub for some time now, and I have to say that I agree with much of the philosophies discussed. However, based on personal success and experience, I feel that some posters in the sub may be misguided in their ideas.

One such example is the idea that the provider and the alpha (for lack of better terms) are rarely the same person.

In my experience, it is not only possible, but mutually beneficial to fulfill both of these roles. I don't understand why the sub is so insistent on the idea that the two roles are almost always exclusive.

My personal experience: I have played the role of the beta provider. I have played the role of the alpha with multiple females in my 'roster' so to speak. But more recently, I have involved myself in a relationship where I fulfill both roles, and fill them well. I am not overtly financially successful, although I am relatively young and feel that I have a promising career ahead of me, as does my SO. The sex is great, and consistent. I get it when I want, where I want, as much as I want. My SO is submissive and loves to make me happy.

So my question is this: why are we pidgeon-holing ourselves to a singular role, when the payoff for fulfilling both roles simultaneously provides a mutual benefit for both parties?

Please feel free to call me out on flawed methodology, naevity, etc. But as of now, my current experience has provided me with sufficient evidence to stay true to my convictions. Any and all discussion and criticism is appreciated.
