Alpha and Beta are mainly characterized by differences in the "why" behind your actions (ALL of your actions)
What is alpha behavior, in a sentence? Living your life for yourself with little to no regard for others' expectations of you. And beta behavior? Living your life according to others' expectations of you; putting other people's desires for how you should behave above your own.
If one finds themselves studying game and putting in all this work in order to make girls like them, that is extreme beta behavior. It is a ridiculous amount of effort and time and energy spent in order to conform to others' expectations of you. Alternatively, if you are studying game and putting all this time and effort into game in order to liberate yourself from the expectations of others and to live your life in the way you want to, that is extreme alpha behavior.
Since this stuff is socially taboo, I believe this makes participating in it even more extreme in either direction. Beta: "you're doing THAT to get girls?! So fucking desperate." Alpha: "Woah, you are so dedicated to making your life awesome, despite what anyone thinks about you. I wish I could be that bold."
This is a very subtle difference in behavior. From an outside perspective, all macro behavior between the two could be identical, but the micro behavior would be totally different. The words and the movements and the number of sets, etc, could be identical, but the sub-communication (the main key in attraction) would be vastly different.
This is also very important to think about because it is about where you find fulfillment. Beta behavior tends to find fulfillment and worthiness outside of the self while alpha behavior tends to find fulfillment and worthiness from within. (i am putting fake-alphas in the beta category, of course). Finding self-worth in conditions outside of yourself means unstable state, incongruent behavior, failing shit tests, reactivity, etc.
Why are you doing this? I definitely fall into the beta category sometimes. But I also fall into the alpha category sometimes. The goal is to continuously shift the balance until all my actions come from my own desires with little influence from others. This is a useful guidepost for framing all action. Falling into the beta category only means a misunderstanding of what brings success and 'happiness'. It is a misunderstanding of the cause-and-effect sequence of attraction and emotional success in life. Beta is a state, not a fate.
Understanding of concepts + awareness of self in the moment + conscious direction of focus, emotions, and action = movement towards alpha behavior and success
