Dude, you are not alone. Nothing wrong with running your own business. You can learn a lot from a day job though, but mostly how an organization is run through various forms of coercive applied psychology. I recommend everyone taking at least one day job for a period of about three months if nothing else to learn how that all works. After that, move and figure out how to make money on your own.

Good for your father: running his own business and free from the corporate chains. Corporate 9-5 jobs are the quintessence of slavery in the modern West. His income potential might be lower than some corporate jobs, but he's not at the mercy of a sociopathic manager or faceless corporate bean counters. Do you want to be rich or do you want to be free? Those are two different things. Some corporate jobs may make you rich, but they will never make you free.

You're very young to have such fixed ideas about work and to be turning down jobs because of lifestyle considerations. It's a red flag that you're so quick to give up after one hard day's work. You have another 40+ years of working life ahead of you, and most of that work isn't going to be fun or convenient. You don't mention how the paychecks compare, how reliable the income is, what hard and soft skills you're learning, what the opportunities for promotion and career advancement are. These things might turn out to be more important than your personal feeling about whether you'd rather clock in to a regimented workplace or mosey along in your shorts and sandals whenever it suits you.

There's a fantasy idea put about this forum that you should become an entrepreneur, find some get-rich-quick scheme that prints money while you sleep, and retire to a tropical island by the time you're 30. The reality is that there are no get-rich-quick schemes, most people don't have the personality type to be entrepreneurs, and most entrepreneurs spend long hours doing whatever shitty job has to be done and putting up with whining customers, colleagues who let them down, etc. It may turn out not to be all that different from a low status service job, except that you can't clock out, your time after work isn't your own, and you can't stick it to the man because it turns out that you're the man.

9 to 5 have a lot of advantages.

No chasing down clients for payment
Constant paycheck
No need to worry about competition
After you finish work you are finished, no need to keep clients happy 24/7

I ran my own business for years decided to try 9-5 and loved it. I saw my boss get yelled at by clients, threaten to quit, withhold payment, but I always get my paycheck.

9-5 is not slavery, I work with my own business and 9-5, You are going to take shit in both cases. Personally I kiss more ass in my own business.

Having worked to a shift pattern for most of my working life, I would fucking kill for a 9-5 job
