Also for me (even though I just started this monday) what I'm noticing is less anxiety and more "mental clarity" if that makes sense. TRP's "jerking off to the idea of lifting" is absolutely reasonable and perfectly justified.
The benefits of working out are huge and not only physical but are definitely mental as well. OP is just stupid.
[–]spicedncoke2 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Exactly. You can lift as much as you want, and it will help you starting out. But if you don't have the attitude required you are guaranteed to fail in the long run, not just at TRP, but anything in life.

You don't even lift and you wrote a post mitigating the effectiveness of lifting. Good work. Maybe you should get a career writing about stuff you know nothing of? Perhaps you can teach Gender Studies.

everything i've said is from observation of RTP; maybe instead of bashing me, you could help me out and respond with something productive?

I played football in high school and all through college, which meant that ever since 7th grade, I was lifting. I remember after my senior year in college and I was done with football I was so glad because that meant I didn't have to lift anymore, I viewed it as a chore, an obligation, and I hated it.
So for about 3 years after I was done playing football I didn't really lift. I'd do some token lifts just to make me feel better about my muscles wasting away. I became a skinny fat out of shape loser, and wasted all my strength I gained playing football, as I benched over 300, squatted over 475, and so on. All down the drain.
I started lifting again and immediately my life improved. I cut off all the fat I gained and began to rebuild the strength I lost. I realized that lifting isn't a chore to do to stay in shape to play some kind of sport, its about bettering yourself as a man.
I could never vision myself ever stopping lifting ever again. As I said - yes, the main benefit is gaining mass and strength, but there are side effects that are important too, like discipline and confidence.
Not lifting just destines you to be a skinny fat loser. And you can be skinny and still be skinny fat - skinny fat simply means you have more fat than muscle. So even if you are skinny and thin, chances are you still have more fat than muscle. Women are repelled by skinny fats, even if they don't look "obese". In fact, I have more respect for obese fats than skinny fats. Skinny fats are obese losers in denial.

How do you play football and not lift?
Even the girls soccer team had to lift.
maybe you're referring to american football (which is understandable) - i mean soccer in my context
[–]shipintbrief0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe he meant soccer. In soccer you can be skinny and weak. Useless sport for stupid narcissists. I hate it. I once seen an final in European Cup where one guy run by an Italian player and slightly touched him by the elbow. Italian guy fell acting like he is really hurt. What we call ugly simulation they call tactics. When would this sport even die. So stoopit.

it's probably a bigger deal for scrawny guys. Being smaller and weaker automatically disqualifies you for 99% of women. But if you are a little bit chubby or just out of shape then the main benefit is just the confidence it gives you and the fact that it just makes you happier because lifting heavy things is what the male body was designed to do. Being inactive will make you depressed and we all know what affect a depressed guy has on women.

Better physique sure does wonders to get you more and easier lays, but the real reason behind it being the #1 advice is that it puts your mindset in the right place:
It forces you to get on a routine, and it gives you clear and simple goals, thus putting some order in your life and giving you a sense of control over your own life. It teaches you daily discipline and it teaches you that only regular and frequent efforts gets you to your desired outcome in the long term.
It's physically very demanding: it requires you to put 100% of your mental and physical strength in the moment. Achieving the number of reps after such personal effort massively boosts your confidence.

If you think this or upvote this, you haven't understood anything about the red pill.
EDIT: since I am being downvoted and that the post I replied to keeps getting upvoted, let me clarify for you dimwits. The red pill is, in essence, the truth about women's mind: hypergamy, solipsism, feelz before reelz, rationalization. The red pill teaches you the purpose and nature of shit tests and comfort tests and how to pass them. But most of all, it teaches you of the dual nature of women's sexual strategy: alpha fucks & beta bucks.
The duality of women towards men is explained by the co-existence of their emotional need for comfort, support, resources providing, reliability, and a sexual desire for a collection of traits that we typically call "masculine" and which include good genetics (height, muscles, hair, jawline, facial symmetry) as well as a social and personal dominant mindset that reveals itself in Frame, actions of leading men, pre-selection and social status. The man who, almost single-handedly, invented the red pill taught you that Frame is everything, that alpha is a mindset or that Game is "vitally important" while Looks "matter".
In that context, if you seriously summarize all of this as "looks are the only thing that matter", it means only one thing: you haven't understood what is the red pill. I can guarantee, based on your upvote of that post, that you are new here and I enjoin you to get reading the sidebar.

Newbs gonna newb, brother. They missed your point entirely.

Most people in society are out of shape, being physically fit is a commitment to yourself as a man. Lifting/exercising is the easiest most cost effective way to start improving yourself and leading to the items outlined in u/redditadminssuck_88 post and shows others you are actually doing something instead of just talking about it.
[–]1takethedive1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't get why anyone is bothering with this post. You're young, but a smart kid, and you can read. Crush the sidebar over and over, as it contains every answer to the question you asked -- and the subreddit for questions is AskTRP. When you have something useful to share -- and I mean a realization you came to by applying principles, not by looking at a few posts and failing to understand them -- come back and post it here and add to the knowledge base.

I get where you come from. It took me 6 months after my discovery/acceptance of the red pill and my starting lifting. I didn't see the point given that I was already doing many sports, creative hobbies and had my career on point. Had no interest in becoming a gym rat and justified that lack of interest by saying I didn't have the time (you always have time, it all depends on your priorities).
But as my understanding of redpill concepts grew, I started getting the theory on why everybody was so insistent on it (see my other answer in the post: it's about the mindset mainly, and then the looks). So I reluctantly got into it, experienced what everybody was saying, and never stopped. Because nothing I have ever done or achieved in my life had as much positive impact on my masculine mindset than weightlifting. Because of the "materialist" stigma of weightlifting in our blue pill world, lifting still appears as an oddity in my non-materialistic lifestyle (intellectual culture and outdoor interests) and it baffles my family and friends who know of my lifting. But it's definitely what turned around my mindset to the best. Do it and you too will realise why it's the most common suggestion.

You didn't absorb much of the lifting talk if you can't figure out why it's important.
If you're not lifting weights, at least have some sort of physical activity or sport that you can do a few times a week - bare minimum. Go hard.

and feel free to ask me anything.
That's amusing. What would we ask you? You have no knowledge or experience to offer.

It sets u apart from the rest of the men, keeps u confident, instills discipline in you.
