I've been reading this site for the last week straight. I found it after I clicked a link in the comment section of an insignificant, mind numbing and time wasting reddit page, mocking what the TheRedPill was and stood for.

I''ve never been more connected to anything I've read in my life. Every thread, every comment, every discussion is so incredibly articulate and poignant that I find myself thinking it isn't even real, that a community can't operate so fluidly with so many people practicing towards a common goal. I've shared the same thoughts about accepting the reality of your surroundings and situation to better yourself, but I am still in awe that the science has been dissected and presented in such a clear, logical, and completely undeniable way.

I know this comment is off topic but I just had to say something. I think the points above finally broke something in my brain.

We like to think we accept what IS instead of what SHOULD be.

Given that reality, one realizes his limits are only truly mental obstacles. Strengthening the mind and body allows us to be fearless when nearing those limits, blowing past them, surprising ourselves as well as others. Then it snowballs.

Also, 2 drops of misogyny ;)

You forgot two cups of patriarchy.

It's the best circlejerk you'll ever find in this website.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The most productive one, anyway.

[–]chakravanti93 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

S/productive/critical

Let's not get carried away with ourselves. If people do better for themselves and become better people, we can't take credit for that and doing so might even be considered self-destructive by some measures.

Well, it broke my laziness for sure. I've been reading through TRP for a few weeks now. Last night was my first session with my trainer at the gym.

The Red Pill is like the father we never had.

I came to this sub finding a way to attract women but discovered life

[–]BogartSmartSev 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Whoa...

Deep!

[–]Strongproudwoman 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can't remember why I came here. I think I typed in /r/theredpill. And then rest was just like Alice falling down the rabbit hole.

[–]bhsWD96 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The best posts on this site are like this. Much less bitching about the state of the world or the beta victim mentality, than taking an active approach to changing your life by putting forth some kind of effort. In short, I've come to like TRP for the same reason I can't stomach the MRA subs.

[–]heist_of_saint_graft 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Read. Lift. Practice. Fail. Think. Start over. Fail again. Get up. Start over. Live.

A blueprint for happiness as a man.

This is what TRP's "sexual strategy in a culture increasingly lacking a positive identity for men" amounts to. It isn't about "getting sex". It's about the fact that the world treats us differently as men, and that we respond to our environments differently than women do.

The above strategy in a single line by the OP is what every great man has ever followed.

I've been big on self improvement the past couple years. Dropped 100 pounds, enrolled in school and graduate in December as an RN. Dress better, posture, body language I try to convey..Lifting is the one thing I need to force myself to do. I'm currently 6'4 190 pounds and 26 yo, I need to add muscle but I have this huge mental roadblock about it. I just can't seem to get started with it.

It's not even the lifting itself, I have the willpower and motivation to stick to a training program and diet but I've never stepped foot in a gym. I feel weak and pathetic compared to everybody in there, like a noob. Don't know shit about the exercises or equipment and feel like I'm being judged.

I've been checking out novice lifting programs and Fierce Five seems to be a good starting point. It's like writing a paper for school, hardest part is getting started.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The easiest part is getting started! I was 6'2, and a pretty boy bitch before I started going to the gym daily. I started benching 10lbs on each side of the bar. For about a month, everyday I went in there, I just felt shame. I would barely finish my workout, wouldn't even keep my head up at the gym. Then, after the first month I threw 25lbs on each side. Benched it 1 time. Went for a second but some guy had to run over and help me. He picked it up, I thanked him and he said, 'no worries man, I remember when you were benching 65, better keep at it.' Well I'll be fucked, it just clicked to me that nobody gives a fuck what you do in the gym. There's only one way you can go with good diet and training; up. I'm benching 2 plates for reps now. When I first started I couldn't stand being there because I was so weak. Now I can't get out of the gym because I keep getting stronger. Make moves man, don't be afraid to leave your ego at the door and step out of your comfort zone.

[–]Alternate87 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am definitely going to get started. May we both laugh about how weak we were one day.

[–]IOTI 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

May I kindly suggest starting strength or stronglifts 5x5 if you're just getting into lifting. Both programs are easy to follow (not a lot of moves) and are great at building strength.

I did stronglifts for roughly 3 months (probably should have done it longer) and it was great for me when I was just starting.

[–]Alternate87 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Will definitely look into those.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Maybe there are people in there that judge. I don't know for sure. What I can tell you for certain is that there are more of us that hit the gym and are encouraged when someone is obviously starting out. It's great to see a guy who cares enough about himself to begin lifting. It gives us hope.

All of us had to start somewhere and the gains come easier for some than others. Just know that the ripped guy squatting massive weight started where you are right now. We see you in the gym and we're glad you're there. We're silently rooting you on.

[–]Alternate87 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That makes a lot of sense. As a former fatty I always have respect when I see that fat guy jogging down the road. No respect for the ones in line at McDonalds.

[–]SWALLOWTHISPILLBITCH 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for this. This sub is the perfect guide to masculinity, the father figure I wish I had.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"The next version of yourself is a fucking badass that intimidates the shit out of you right now."

That's a great way to look at it. If my future self walked into the room right now, I'd hope he was fucking badass. Even more jacked, even better dressed, with an even more polarizing, interesting personality. That's what I'm working towards.

[–]FozzBotNYC4 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Thankyou so much for this post.

You are allowed to mourn your wasted time.

Yet don't waste even more of it stewing in said emotions.

I've been stuck here for a little bit too long, and you've just made me realise what an idiot I've been.

[–]sushisection 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Being able to bench press that next weight consistently is such a great feeling. Overcoming that little voice in your head saying you can't, overcoming the ache in your body... There's nothing else like it.

[–]ThorBrodinson17 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This sounds like something Elliot Hulse would say. I love that dude's outlook on life.

[–]SurpriseMeAgain 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why is the OP's post removed?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have no idea. I reached out to the mods and got no response.

[–]EvilNando 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

why was this removed?

[–]RepostTony 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I fucking needed this today!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow, I finally figured out how to post here, I'm not good at Reddit. I think emotions go deeper than bitterness towards women not being kind or offering sex, and I think circumcision has had different possible negative effects on society inclusive of the possibility of more dependence on women to fill that void. But over the years I have had daydreams about who I wanted to be which seemed too masculine or cinematic, and not something that belonged in a blue pill, pro-shaming society. The fear of shame lead to the fear of growth, and kept me from feeling that life was meaningful. When I started see these fantasies about myself as blueprints instead of daydreams they helped me feel more meaning in my life.

[–]Shit_The_Fuck_Yeah 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This type of post is my favorite type of TRP post.

[–]EvilNando 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

self improvement so far has been such a source of good emotions that when i see a women passing me by I feel lazy to approach her (and endure her bs) unless shes really attractive (>= hb8)

Im lifting and eating clean , I dont care much about the end goal (although im aware of how things can play in the future) as I love the process of it all

theres nothing like being a man and to live life on your own terms

[–]limbooo 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Needed to hear this. But who knows how long before I even attempt to "live" again.

[–]ExamplePrime 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what I've been building towards before I even stumbled across this subreddit

It's been my focus the last few years. Great post man
